"Max - our host - works hard to make your stay enjoyable. He and his crew (family) are progressively renovating the rooms and they are just wonderful inside. The outside, however, is a bit unsettling. When I first drove up I wondered "What have I gotten myself into?!!" Upholstered chairs outside that are cracked and fading, weeds growing through the pavers, peeling paint on the front door, old fridges sitting outside, stacks of cardboard... I've mentioned this to Max and I know he's aware...

"Probably the best roadside motel I've ever stayed in. Very comfortable room and bed with great facilities provided, even a kettle which is extremely rare in Canada as most places just provide coffee machines these days. Restaurant was not open yet (it is May) and there is nothing else there."
