Check in was a much longer process than it should have been. The air conditioner had to be kept on very low temperatures to keep the room from being too humid, and the bedding was not warm enough to keep warm. The elevators were extremely slow for there to only be two.

This hotel made our trip and beach time so simple. The pools were also nice. Very famiky friendly. Staff was ready to help if we had any issues.

My wife and I spent a few days at Trailborn for her birthday weekend. While we left with mixed feelings, we still had an enjoyable stay overall. The location is easily the resort's biggest highlight. It's right on Wrightsville Beach with direct beach access, and chairs and umbrellas are available to rent. The property also borders a beautiful state-owned green space that's perfect for walking and relaxing. The staff was friendly and helpful, though the service didn't quite match what you'd expect at this price point. The amenities were a nice bonus, including the pool, indoor and outdoor bars, sauna, hot tub, and access to Trailborn's sound-side property, which is a great place to watch the sunset. The biggest drawback was the value. Trailborn presents itself as an upscale boutique resort, but outside of its exceptional location and amenities, the overall experience didn't consistently match its premium pricing. The room, food, and drinks are expensive, and the restaurant was especially underwhelming. We ate there for both breakfast and dinner, and both the food and service fell short of expectations. Overall, Trailborn is a nice resort in an unbeatable location. If being steps from the beach is your priority, it's worth considering—just be prepared to pay a premium for the location.
