When the water is high you can come down the 1,500 foot walled canyon. With less water flowing, guides take you 3 to 4 miles up the canyon with some spots having to portage. But take it all in stride because the views are breathtaking. I recommend Big Bend River Tours. You might get lucky and have the guides that take you a half mile up a side canyon. Mar 16, 2025 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location #### Great location and great campsites Great location. Very close to the western entrance to BIBE. I stayed at an electric campsite with no water. There’s a men’s and women’s bathroom with a single shower in each. However, you cannot flush the toilet or brush your teeth without adding a quarter to the shower? And if the quarter just returns, you get no water. Tried to explain to housekeeping but was a miscommunication. The diner is awesome with very friendly staff and great food! Will bring my own shower next time I stay. ##### Megan M.
