We hiked all the way to the end of the Rio Celeste trail and you should too. Even though we were hot, sweaty and wet, the reward at the end is so cool! Lots of steps going down to the Rio Celeste waterfall! I'd recommend you do this first as you'll probably be tired on the way back if you do the entire trail. After the waterfall you get to see some different views of the river, a bubbling spring, a few nice little bridges to cross and then at the end, you get to see where the two rivers meet and create that amazing blue colour!!! It's an easy-moderate difficulty hike all the way.

Tenorio is quite a drive from Canyon Lodge. It should be done before or after visiting this region. Don’t forget to visit the Maleku indigenous reserve!

Beautiful to see. There are 520 steps to get down and the 520 steps to get back up. They do have many benches to stop and take breaks

Go straight to the end at Roo Celeste. Then see everything on the way back. Week days are not crowded. Need good waterproof shoes. Rains a lot . Walking stick and rain coat a must. Trail can be slippery after rains.

Beautiful river but too crowdy. A long drive from La Fortuna.
