Tenam Puente Archaeological Zone Tours and Activities

It's a beautiful lush property, walking distance from the center and the river. They're very helpful with arranging transport to the airport or anywhere. The restaurant is very nice and they have an outside bar by the pool that's open at night for coffee, drinks and snacks.They've done some refurbishing to the rooms, they're simple and clean with great AC and wifi. I've stayed there a number of times through the years and it's always been a wonderful retreat in Chiapa de Corzo!

We stayed for two full weeks. Overall, everything was okay. We booked a family room, but one of the showers didn’t have hot water. We reported it, and the staff responded promptly. Unfortunately, the reception experience was poor and not welcoming at all. From the moment we arrived, there was little effort to make us feel at home or to provide basic information about the hotel. We had heard that the hotel offered many amenities and had unique features, but no one gave us a tour or even explained what was available. What was truly surprising is that after two weeks of staying there, it was El Secreto—the restaurant of a completely different hotel next door—where someone finally took the time to explain the concept and design of our hotel. It was honestly unbelievable that an external staff member did more to inform us than the hotel’s own team. We also had a disappointing experience with the restaurant hostess when ordering room service. She asked about food allergies, and when I mentioned I was allergic to mushrooms, she laughed with the waiter, saying the dish I ordered “obviously” didn’t contain mushrooms. It felt unprofessional and disrespectful. Really, the hotel has a good reputation, but it is not worth it.
