"We had a nice stay at the guesthouse. Great food and friendly hostage. Only negative aspects are, that water in the shower wasn't really warm and price was relatively high compared to other accommodations in the Anti-Atlas region."

Frequently asked questions

What is the best area to stay in Tassrirt?
The best area to stay in Tassrirt is typically within the central medina for its cultural experience or slightly outside in the newer developments for modern comforts.

The medina is Tassrirt's historic heart, characterised by its narrow, winding alleys, traditional souks, and guesthouses built within ancient riads. You'll find yourself surrounded by local life, with the main market square, Djemaa el-Fna, usually just a short walk away. This area is great for travellers who enjoy exploring on foot and experiencing the local culture first-hand.

For couples seeking a romantic and private retreat, staying in a riad within the medina can be wonderful. These traditional Moroccan homes, often with inner courtyards and rooftop terraces, offer a peaceful escape from the bustling streets while still being close to attractions like the Bahia Palace or the Ben Youssef Madrasa. Many riads also offer cooking classes or spa treatments.

Alternatively, for those who prefer modern amenities and easier vehicle access, the Hivernage district, just outside the medina walls, is an excellent choice. This area is known for its wider avenues, contemporary hotels, and a more relaxed pace.
When is the best time to go to Tassrirt?
The best time to visit Tassrirt is during the spring (March to May) and autumn (September to November) months.

During these periods, the weather is pleasantly warm and sunny, with average temperatures ranging from 20°C to 28°C. This makes it ideal for exploring the region's natural beauty, such as the nearby Atlas Mountains and the Tassrirt Oasis. The evenings are usually mild, great for enjoying outdoor dining.

Couples often find these seasons particularly enjoyable for hiking and exploring the local markets without the intense heat of summer. The clear skies and comfortable temperatures are great for scenic drives through the Souss Valley or visiting the traditional Berber villages dotted around the area.

For those interested in cultural experiences, spring and autumn also coincide with various local festivals and harvest seasons, offering a chance to see traditional Moroccan life.
