Beautiful historic 100 year old neighborhood, surrounded by giant trees, ocean views and stately houses. The Ocean View is one of my nicest condos, but I discount it because, the owner condo below: \- smokes, & occasionally guests complain about smoke coming from her balcony if the windows are open, & \- she is quick to complain about noise The bus stop is in front of building on Yakima Ave. Within two minutes by car (or a 15 walk) you are at the best Tacoma has to offer: restaurants, coffee shops, stores, grocery store, the Ruston Way waterfront walking path, the Tacoma Little Theater, downtown, the convention center, hospital, and the Movie Theaters. Slightly further and you are the Museums of Glass, the Tacoma Art Museum, the Washington State History Museum, the universities (UPS & UW), the Rialto and Pantages Theaters, and Point Defiance Park, Zoo and Aquarium. Seattle is 40 minuets north on 1-5. Portland is 2.5 hours south. Mt Rainier National Park is 2 hours away. Olympia National Park is 2.5 hour drive. Each had our own bed & bath and was several hundred dollars cheaper than each of us getting a hotel room. Onsite parking was easy, just keep in mind there are some old cobble stone roads in the area. There are great Puget Sound views off the balcony and from the dinette area. Ron is an exceptional host and the one minor problem we encountered during our visit was fixed the next day. The beds were excellent! Bathrooms and kitchen were small but well-equipped and very adequate for a week's visit. Great neighborhood for walks and water views, easy access to everywhere, plus covered parking in back.
