About this property

White Mountains Hike-In A-Frame | Disc Golf Dreams

  • Summary:

This hike-in off-grid A-frame is for friends, disc golfers, and outdoor-first guests who think the best places take a little effort to reach. Tucked into 56 acres in the White Mountain National Forest region, it gives you two twin beds, a private firepit, solar lighting, and the rare pleasure of being unreachable. There’s no plumbing, heat, Wi-Fi, cell service, or running water, but you’ll have 12V solar power, a propane grill, private outhouse, and a water filtration system for drinking water.

    The Space:

    Why Guests Love It

    • Hike-in A-frame for two

    • Two twin beds - great for friends, solo travelers, or adventure partners

    • Private firepit and propane grill

    • Solar lighting and limited 12V solar power

    • Water filtration system for collecting drinking water from the nearby stream

    • Private outhouse - rustic, clean, and not shared

    • Free access to the 18-hole disc golf course

    • Access to hiking trails and the adventure trail to our 5-story Summit Tower with 360-degree views

    • Simple, outdoor-first basecamp energy

    The Space

The Bogey is a rustic little A-frame made for guests who came to be outside.

Inside, you’ll find two twin beds, bedding, solar lighting, limited 12V solar power, and a water filtration system for drinking water. Outside, you’ll have your own firepit, propane grill, and private outhouse.

Bogey is especially well-suited for friends, solo travelers, disc golfers, and outdoorsy pairs who do not need a queen-bed romance setup. It is simple, cozy, and practical - the kind of place where the main amenity is what waits outside the door.

Play disc golf. Hike to the tower. Take a woodland wander. Drive to a nearby lake. Grill dinner. Sit by the fire. Wake up feeling like you actually slept.

No inbox. No pings. No little glowing rectangle asking if you’ve considered being stressed again.

    Guest Access:

    Hike-In Access

The Bogey is a hike-in A-frame, and the walk is part of what makes it feel tucked away.

You’ll follow a natural wooded path to reach the unit. It is not a flat drive-up A-frame, so sturdy shoes are strongly recommended. We can help transport your belongings by utility vehicle during check-in, so you do not have to haul everything yourself.

Bogey is best for guests who see the walk in as part of the adventure - not an inconvenience.

    The Neighborhood:

In The Trees is set in Stoneham, Maine, in the White Mountain National Forest & Maine Lakes region. The property gives you built-in adventure, while nearby lakes, mountains, and trails make it easy to shape each day around the season.

    Lakes, Trails & Nearby Adventure

Tucked into a beautiful pocket of Western Maine, our property is surrounded by forest, lakes, trails, ski areas, and small-town adventure.

    Nearby favorites include:

    • Virginia Lake — sandy beach, swimming, and fishing

    • Keewaydin Lake — just past the property on Route 5

    • Kezar Lake — about ten minutes away, with summer boat and kayak rentals

    • Kezar Falls — about eight miles away

    • White Mountain National Forest — bordering the property

    • Pleasant Mountain — about 24 minutes away

    • Sunday River — about 31 minutes away

    • Mt. Abram — about 34 minutes away

    • Roger Twitchell Observatory in Norway, Maine — about 22 minutes away, with public viewing nights

    Summer

Summer is for fireflies, stargazing, grill dinners, disc golf, nearby lake days, and slow mornings in the woods. This is the season when it feels especially alive - green, warm, simple, and wonderfully far from normal routines.

    Fall

Fall gives Bogey its most romantic personality. The leaves shift into gold and red, the air gets crisp, and the firepit becomes the obvious place to end the day. There is no heat, so fall guests should pack warm layers, cozy socks, and extra “I knew what I signed up for” energy.

    May

May is green and rustic. Trails may be soft or muddy depending on weather. Bring practical shoes and a sense of adventure. The forest will bring the drama.
