The whole place smelled like old, wet carpet. The TV in the room did not work. There were no lamps or pictures in the room like the listing suggests. The sheets are for rent and stained. The check-in time was not accurate and the reception says open at 9 but it is not. The lock on my room didn't work unless I forcefullly lifted the door to make sure it latched. There is no vent in the room so it is stuffy. It is a very convenient location and the staff is helpful but I have paid less for better conditions.

The Hostel is well located, near the station and there are many shops and restaurants nearby. But the cleanliness was awful, the room was dirty and we needed to pay for towels and bedsheets. The men’s toilets were full of piss. The staff was very unfriendly and people in these hostel were strange. Our triple room didn’t have a window, it looked like a shelter, I don’t know how this can be legal in an European country. Overall we paid too much for this conditions.

Amazingly quiet- so despiyr of the quite warm room without a window in the basement, we booked an extra night. We had the twin room: perfect for us, an older backpacking couple who just need a budget place to sleep close to the station.

This was just sad. Bed Bugs in the bed and room. Stayed for 2 night, but it was worse than I thought. Service was good, but not the little pets sucking blood. Cheap, but not worth the money when you know that you will wake up in the night with them crawling around you in the bed..

My friend and I checked in here and immediately felt the vibes were off. We thought it was odd you had to rent sheets (in previous hostels we only had to rent towels). The man at the front desk led us to our room but he essentially put us in an occupied room and we walked in on another guest, which was awkward to say the least. We were promptly led to a different room but we had already seen enough. After looking at a few reviews, we decided to check out a day earlier than intended. The check out process was essentially non-existent. Clientele basically acted as spokespeople when the front desk man was nowhere to be seen. We returned later (with difficulty entering due to the fact that the front door code changes every day and the front desk man was not there in the morning) and were told we do not need to check out. What a strange experience, and do not recommend especially for female travellers.

I was wary before arriving at the City Lodge Hostel, having read the reviews. However it was soon apparent on arrival that the staff were working really hard to maintain a clean environment. I experienced no problems regarding the availability of reception staff. The furniture was well worn but considering the price of the hostel it was really good value. The location is absolutely perfect for a short stay with easy access to all sites and amenities.

It gave me the creeps. Strange clientele, did not feel like tourists. Very thin walls and doors, could hear everything. After just som minutes in the room I felt regret over booking this. Read some reviews and this increased my feeling off regret. Did not feel safe and comfortable. Checked out and left. So glad I had the time and money to check into another hotel.

Omg. Wow. Let's make it short: Stay away. Not clean, broken electrics, bedding was not clean, toilets dirty and to few, insects in bed, nauseous smell among others. Price for sure to high for what you get.

They charge extra for the bed sheets. Dirty and stinky, starting from the broken entrance door to the broken washroom facilities. If you arrive late at night you might not even get your room number and the code. There’s nothing you can enjoy about this place and honestly it shouldn’t be listed here.

We aren't picky and have stayed in lots of hostels. I killed 3 bedbugs in our room, 1 was full of blood. Bathrooms were filthy our entire stay. Feces on walls, blood on toilet seats, mold all over shower walls, bath floors covered with tp & trash. Kitchen was dirty and unusable. Refrigerator packed full of residents' food. Several guests obviously were locals who used this as a full time residence (near homeless). Can't recommend this place. Stay here if you can't find anything else.

Worst hotel/hostel experience ever. I stayed in the building for exactly 10 minutes before i left. Loads of bed bugs. Dirty rooms, toilets, hallways. This place is not a hostel. Thin doors. Felt not safe. Please do not stay here. This listing should be taken off from hotels.com. absolutely the worst place ever. Never ever again.

The experience was terrible, there was a lot of noise, I couldn't rest at all, it even scared me and I left as early as possible, the cleaning is also terrible, there were cockroaches and other bugs in the bed. It even gave me an allergy, the bathrooms were very dirty too.

Expedía shouldn’t be selling this horrible quality of product; this thing more than hostel it looks more like a shelter. The worst place ever. The guy at the office is so greedy; instead of acomódate you he rather make some money out of your situation. Horrible experience. Government should close this place; it has a very poor ventilation, dirty place; it’s not healthy at all, neither safe at all

They have bed bugs!! It's very dirty and it smells. When I started to put on the bed sheets I noticed bed bugs! So I left the hostel immediately and didn't even get a whole refund! I usually don't have high expectations or needs in a hostel but having bed bugs is a no-go! Even if you want to travel cheap it's definitely not worth it and I would recommend to invest 2€ more and stay in another hostel. Worst hostel experience so far.

Horrible.

It was horrible. They showed me one bed that was supposed to be mine, paid the fee for the bed sheets, only for me to be back with someone else sleeping in my bed. The beds looks like they haven't been cleaned in a while, and the same goes for the bathroom. Their safety system is very weak, because the others in the lodgement lets anybody in, even homeless people. There were also people offering drugs... it was quite a scary night. Maybe try your best with the single rooms, but I repeat the safety system is very weak and anybody can get the extra key to your room easily.
