The best time to visit Steenbok, Mpumalanga, is during the dry season, which runs from May to October.During these months, the weather is generally mild and sunny with very little rainfall. This makes it ideal for game viewing, as the vegetation is less dense and animals gather around waterholes, making them easier to spot. Clear skies also make for excellent photography conditions. For those looking to combine wildlife viewing with outdoor activities like hiking, the cooler temperatures of June, July, and August are particularly pleasant. These months avoid the intense heat of summer, making excursions more comfortable. If your primary focus is on seeing newborn animals and lush landscapes, the shoulder months of April and November, just outside the peak dry season, can also be rewarding.
