This unit features hardwood floors throughout, detailed architectural finishes and beautiful furnishings. Atop the Shiphouse is a rooftop deck that spans the entire footprint of the house. The deck is a wonderful gathering spot that features tables and chairs for al fresco dining, a grilling area with running water, and a sitting area to take in the Atlantic Ocean views. Both the rooftop deck and pool are shared with guests renting the residence on the two floors above the first floor residence. During the summer months, The Shiphouse condos require all three floors to be rented for seven-night minimum stay with a Saturday-to-Saturday schedule only. We have four teenagers that like a little independence and staying at Shiphouse 1 allowed each of us to determine when we wanted to enjoy the beach, hang at the pool or head into the town square for a cup of coffee or a little shopping. Carey at Hodnett Cooper was so easy to work with. Her communication was so consistent and thorough we never had to worry about not being prepared. The property was beautiful and clean, and it had everything we needed for a week's stay. St. Simon's Island is a beautifully manicured island with a good mix of full-time residents and visitors, old stately properties and newer builds, and enough amenities without being overrun.
