Awesome stay!
This is the third time we've stayed at this property. There simply isn't a better place at this price. Some say the inside can use some updating, but I think it adds to the charm of the property. Also, you're going to (or should!) be spending most of your time at the beach, which is literally steps away. Can't wait to stay here again!

Wonderful
Beautiful home right on the ocean; exactly as described. Was in a great area and my family and I enjoyed everyday of the 2 weeks we were there. Would not hesitate to stay there should we return to Treasure Island.

We always go to CA for the beaches (since we live in NV) but lately we have tried out beaches on the east coast, and this one certainly did not disappoint. The house is in a perfect location and literally just steps to the beach, we can't say enough good things, we will DEFINTELY be back!

Rustic, charming, water’s edge beach house
This home is exactly what we were hoping for when we booked our vacation. Phil was a responsive host and answered questions promptly. We were greeted with flowers and a bottle of wine. The kitchen was well stocked with everything we needed. There were plenty of linens and beach towels. The pool was clean and beautiful. We had quiet neighbors. But the highlight is the proximity to the water’s edge, the seashells, and the sunsets. The photos accurately depict the inside and outside of the house. The stairs might be a problem for some guests. The loft bedroom could present a privacy issue for multiple couples. All things considered, this was our idea of a perfect beach vacation and we hope to stay here again.

House was as described with lots of stars; could sleep 8 though 4 of the beds were in lofts with little privacy. In spite of Cockroach in shower and dead rat on back porch, had a nice time with great access to beach.

We had a great time. I would rate the house a 5 star, but the pool was dirty. The pool guy came but did not take out the needles, so we cleaned them out. The owner was very helpful. The bedrooms had an open concept that lacked privacy, but we liked talking to each other so easily.

We couldn’t have asked for a better location on the beach. The house was great for our family getaway. It’s unique layout wasn’t an issue for us with young kids. The pool needs some updates, but other than that, we had a great experience!

Gorgeous Beach Location
My husband and I, our adult daughters, and our two pets spent a week at this beach house. The townhome was clean, spacious and well stocked with bath and beach towels. The pool table was a great bonus! But the best amenity is the beautiful beachfront location!

We absolutely loved this home. We have stayed at many homes and condos on the beach but this one was the best by far! private pool and a step or two from the beach. It needs some updating but most of the time was spent outside anyway.

Beautiful home
We enjoyed our stay very much. It was a lovely house right on the beach. We loved to watch the beautiful sunset each night. The house was neat, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The bottle of wine and flowers left by the owner was greatly appreciated. The owner was quick to respond to any questions or concerns. Overall we had a wonderful week at the beach.

We had a great week staying at the property. Everything was as Phil noted, and we had no issues the entire week. The AC kept it cool in the heat of the day, and at night on all levels of the house. It was nice to have a washer and dryer available as well. He had a great stock of beach towels, chairs, and other items for the beach. I would recommend bringing some umbrellas, the sun was intense! Plenty of shells to find along the beach also! We had a couple days of very calm water, where you could go out in the water to the sandbar, and search for shells also. We spotted dolphins a couple days as well. Caddy’s was a short walk to grab some food, and the grocery is less than a mile away, when we decided to cook. The traffic in the area was very reasonable, much less than what I was expecting during a peak week of the season. We visited Sea Dog Brewing, Caddy’s, Shells, and got carry out from Michael and Vito’s Pizzeria, and Sea Hag’s. We walked the beach every day, listened to the ocean, and generally did a lot of relaxing at the condo. We had a great time!

Location Location Location
It was hard to leave that view behind. The house perfectly located on Sunset beach. The beach was not crowded and had amazing weather the whole time. You can walk the beach see all the beautiful shells or walk to caddy's for snack and beverage. The house was clean upon arrival and check in was a breeze, the owner made it super simple. The pool and pool table was a high light for the kids, they used them both for hours on end. The house is dated some compared to other properties we have stayed at in the area but was a none issue. The only thing was awkward about the property is the layout of the bedrooms. We were able to view the house that is the rental next door and the space was better utilized. I would recommend this place to any family who wants the convenience of being right on the beach in a safe neighborhood.

Excellent location with the beach just steps away! Kitchen was adequately stocked with necessary items for cooking meals. We had 8 folks in the residence and the only downside was the sleeping arrangements with lack of privacy for adult guests due to the loft arrangements.

Picturesque Views
The name Sunset Beach speaks for itself. This property has incredible views from multiple locations in and out of the house, including spectacular sunsets over the Gulf of Mexico. The house is steps from the beach and has all the amenities needed to make a great beach vacation. We were fortunate enough to have daily dolphin sightings and bird watching. Thanks, Phil, for opening your lovely beach house to us.

Not Your Usual Beach Stay
Our stay at this beautiful beach front home was not your usual beach stay. I had TMJ surgery in St. Petersburg - turns out the surgeon is the only one in the country who does what he does, and he is amazing! The surgery, pre-op and post-op required a two week stay, and my husband and I were so fortunate stay stay at this lovely home. To say its on the beach - it is right on the beach. I am not sure you can get closer. But, it was the most perfect place to rest, start my recovery and heal. And, my husband was able to work remotely! It was so nice to take walks on the beach and to sit out and take in the wonderful beach air. Our host, Phil, could not have been more accommodating! I was nervous since TS Nicole was headed directly our way the night before and hit the day of my surgery. But, Phil put me at ease, and he was right. There were absolutely no issues!! Thank you Phil. We hope to return again for a real beach vacation!

Hidden Gem
This house has the most stunning beach view! Sunsets are picture perfect. It’s just a few steps from the beach and has a nice shaded pool for hot afternoons. The house is clearly described as the bedrooms are upstairs and one is a spiral staircase. It was very clean and the beds were great. Kitchen is organized and fully equipped. There are two grills, gas and charcoal! The pool table was good for evening entertainment. The owner was very good at communication. Caddy’s and Ka Tiki are just a 1/2 mile beach walk and great for drinks, food, music! I would stay here again. It was great for our family of 6.

Great Beach Retreat
My girlfriend and I stayed at the property with another friend and really enjoyed the rustic beach house vibe. The neighborhood and beach (Sunset Beach) is one of the coolest around St. Pete area in our opinion. The beach is not very crowded and just within walking distance to great bars/restaurants with live music. We would definitely book again, and hope to in the future. Phil is a great host and communication with him was fantastic.

Good communication from owner. Great location. Short walk from caddy’s. We enjoyed the pool table. Only negative was the Pool had a small leak which required us to fill with hose each morning. Overall we really enjoyed our stay.

Great location but challenging house layout
The location of this house is perfect - both in terms of the area and the amazing beach front access. The neighborhood is quiet, the beach is not crowded, and we were an easy beach walk away from Caddys which was fun for lunch and some late afternoon drinks. The house is also within an easy drive to Johns Pass, Pass-a-Grill and other area locations. The house was also very well stocked, not just in terms of dishes and general supplies, but beach chairs and toys. It was lovely to not have to buy or rent a beach umbrella and chairs for the week. Phil has plenty available and we were thankful for that! The reason for the lower rating is because of the house layout and the pool. There is honestly NO PRIVACY in any of the bedrooms/sleeping areas. I think I may have read a review indicating that but didn't believe it until we actually say it for ourselves. For a single family, this may be OK. But for two families, it was awkward. The master bedroom (with the king bed) is at the top of the very narrow spiral stairwell which I think would be very hard for older people or young kids. Even a single family deserves a little privacy and there is none to be found. It is honestly a very strange layout and a sad waste of space when you consider how great it could be. The second problem was the pool. It was filthy for the our entire week and the maintenance crew didn't show up until the day before we were leaving. In truth, you don't really need a pool at this location (the gulf water was warm and amazing), but if you book a place expecting a pool, you'd be disappointed for sure. We did email Phil about the pool during our stay and he was responsive, but it didn't change our ability to use it. In the end, Phil did make an offer to help remediate the situation which was appreciated, but I would not book this place just because it has a pool.

As I explained to Heather, we actually had a tropical depression pass through the day before Heather's party arrived, which caused pine needles from nearby pine trees and sand to blow into the pool. This usually happens when we have strong winds from the west, but in this case, the winds were unusually strong. We provide a net for use when this happens between the regular weekly pool service visits. Also during their stay, a leak developed in the pool, which required scheduling a leak detection service and, due to the recent storm, the leak people were booked up. The leak resulted in the water level dropping and the pool pump not filtering properly. We have never had a leak in the pool before, but I did all I could to remedy the situation. I that the interim solution would be to run more water in the pool (from the hose on the deck). Fortunately, the Gulf water is warm this time of the year and is usually a very nice place to swim. Contrary to Heather’s statement, there the door to the 2-level master bedroom suite can be closed, making it completely private, while the 2 secondary bedrooms are separated by a loft. I’m sorry that the sleeping arrangements were not to your liking, but the structure was built in 1980 as a casual beach house, and over twenty or so years renting through Vrbo, I have not had any previous complaints about it.

Nice but not too nice
We had a fabulous laid back visit with our 2 adult children and mom in law. The location was great. Everything was nice but not too nice. As my husband said. There were many unexpected platters, bar supplies ( mixers, muddler etc) beach and pool towels toys and chairs. My 24 year old said it was the best family vacation ever. We were close enough to go to downtown st Pete, Tampa snd sarasota.

Great location but the property could use a little updating and some minor fixes on some areas inside (pocket doors especially) porch railings on the outside. The pool was a nice touch but the trees above it made it especially dirty w/ pine needles. Was finally cleaned on the 6th day of our 7 day stay. I would stay there again though as the location is hard to beat.

Sometimes one of the pocket door comes off its track and as you say, is a minor fix when reported. The house is located right on the beach and there are some pine trees near the pool, so at times when it gets breezy pine needles can blow into the pool, as is noted in the property description. It's occasional and is not possible to prevent so there is a net provided so they can simply be removed between pool cleanings. I'm sorry it bothered you. I'm glad you liked the location and would stay there again and we would be glad to have you..

Fantastic Beach Getaway
We truly enjoyed enjoyed our stay at the beach house! I Our family enjoyed coffee on the deck each morning, taking in the sights of the beautiful ocean. Several mornings we saw dolphins! We were just steps away from the beach and spent most of our time in Treasure Island there. The rental provided us with plenty of space for 3 couples. The kitchen was well stocked, beds we’re comfortable Plenty of towels were provided for the bathrooms along with plenty of beach towels. There is a bedroom loft that overlooks another bedroom which made some inconveniences regarding TV sound and lighting. We bought a fan to offset the TV sound and this helped tremendously. The loft wouldn’t be an issues for parents and children but could be an issues for couples or adult only groups. We highly recommend this property for a relaxing beach getaway.

Great place
This place is located in an ideal spot. Close enough to be convenient to all major necessities, but not in the middle of everything. It’s right on the beach and the views are spectacular. The owner is great to work with and was even able to accommodate us for an extra night on short notice. My only qualm would be the mattresses, bedding and towels. Knowing that the price point is largely dictated by location, it would still be nice to have good mattresses and quality bedding at 500+/night. I would most certainly stay here again.
