Created for your enjoyment, your vacation for two, Sea Cottage is a private paradise. Just a 10 minute drive to the world famous North Shore beaches and less than 15 minutes from the shops and restaurants of beautiful Coral Bay or the ferry dock at Cruz Bay, the cottage can be reached by way of the paved and level Bordeaux Mt. Road which winds through the lush and fragrant bay rum forest. For those who wish to enjoy St. John on foot, the Bordeaux Mt. trailhead in the Virgin Island National Park is only a short hike away leading to beautiful Lameshur Bay on the south side of the island as well as other trails in the park. Sea Cottage is a stand alone, studio – an open floor plan with airy vaulted ceilings, a spacious wrap around covered deck, a queen bed, a garden shower, a full kitchen and a high speed Starlink Wi-Fi. Decorated with beautiful pieces made by local artists, this private getaway is accessed by means of a comfortable 33 step descent through a tropical garden. It is amply cooled by ceiling fans and tradewind breezes so there is never any need for air conditioning. Whether lounging in the hammock or admiring a moonrise or sunrise over the British Virgin Islands, you will be surrounded by the sounds of the forest and mesmerized by an unforgettable view. It is tucked into a steep hillside in the Bordeaux neighborhood overlooking Coral Bay and has complete privacy. A four-wheel drive car is definitely required and their are many steps down the hill but it is worth it. The frogs sing you to sleep and the birds sing through the day. We didn't get to meet Jorge but Monika was a fantastic host. She was very responsive to questions and an overall gentle nice person. It's a small cottage that sits high up on the mountainside overlooking Coral Bay, Tortola, and the Sir Francis Drake Channel. It is great for two people that love nature (which we certainly do). It has a great deck and a really nice outdoor shower, plus a good collection of St. John books and art. The cottage is well equipped and provides a great base for exploring St. John. A little off the beaten path but 100% worth it! 15 minutes from some of the most incredible beaches and minutes away from trails. The cottage is even better than the pictures look and the sunrises are something you’ll remember for a lifetime. Staying here was an incredible experience and the hosts were responsive and happy to offer their knowledge of the island which led to some crazy snorkeling experiences! Do not fear no AC because the location is shaded, and the layout of the cottage is perfect for cross breezes that the temperature was perfect the entire time. The bed was very comfortable with beautiful views to wake up to, and although we didn’t use the kitchen much, it had everything one would need. Walking up or down the lighted path to the cottage at night was magical, especially amongst all the trees and plants. Monika and Jorge are amazing hosts! We booked the cottage very last minute due to Hurricane Elsa which changed our original plans, and we were not disappointed. We were actually grateful to be able to return to our home away from home. The Bordeaux Mtn location is very private and allows for gorgeous views of Coral Bay, Hurricane Hole, Tortola and Virgin Gorda! We found the sounds of nature at night to be very relaxing. The cottage’s outdoor shower is refreshing and wonderful! And as others have mentioned, AC is not needed. The drive isn’t as treacherous as many we’ve traveled in St. John. Monika was always available via text and even offered to drive us when we were initially unable to rent a vehicle on St. John. (We rectified that issue the 2nd day we were there.) Our rental vehicle had a flat tire the morning we were departing, and Jorge came to the rescue! We cannot say enough positive things about Monika, Jorge and the cottage, and we would definitely rent Sea Cottage again if it were available for our dates. It lives up to its billing. Such secluded cottages are not for everyone, but if you enjoy nature, cool trade winds, incredible views, and adventurous drives then you have found your place. Monica and Jorge are great hosts. Monika was very responsive and helpful from the planning stage all the way through the stay. An awesome host! The villa is in a great location, up on hwy 108\. A steep, but short drive to Coral Bay side, and also close to North Shore beaches. I am a very active traveler and spent almost every morning hiking and then the remainder of the day snorkeling. The cottage was a perfect place for me to relax after long days of exploring. The wrap around porch with the beautiful views out over Coral Bay and Hurricane hole during the day, and the perfect spot for stargazing at night quickly became my favorite place to unwind. In fact, I loved it so much that I slept in the large, comfortable hammock all but 2 of my 20 nights! Cooling trade winds kept the property nice and comfortable, so no need for AC. I even had to wear a sweatshirt a couple nights. The private outdoor shower was another favorite spot. Other highlights were the daily visits on the porch from bananaquits and hummingbirds and just being surrounded by all the sounds of nature. The Sea Cottage and a few weeks in St John were exactly what I needed after such a crazy year. I have been home a little over a week and am already longing to be back. ##### Kelley M. The walkway down into the cabin is like walking through a tropical garden with geckos providing security. It is a two room cabin with seaside decor best described as an efficiency cabin with a fully covered wrap around deck. The protection the deck provided from the sun was welcome at the end of a day while watching the sugarbirds feed. The outdoor shower was very relaxing. The kitchenette had everything one would need for some home cooking. The bed was comfortable at the end of beach days as it is a mattress on a wooden frame. There is excellent lighting inside and outside the cabin as well as the walkway. Indirect lighting highlighting the vaulted ceiling was a nice touch giving it a relaxing glow in the evenings. The hosts were great! They were very informative and made our beach days enjoyable with their knowledge of the beaches and reefs. We took full advantage of the provided beach chairs, tent, and towels. This cabin is exactly as advertised; quiet, private, and relaxing high in the mountain with a beautiful view of Coral Bay. ##### Dean S.
