"Young family getaway"
Lovely resort, we had an apartment lakeside for 2 with our toddler, enough to room for us but layout is a little different (takes getting used to cooking by the bathroom!) My husband enjoyed the wake boarding and me the steam room/pool. Food was good too and good coffee! Would love to go back as it was very peaceful and lots of countryside. Beach takes about half an hour in the car. Bring bikes if you can or hire from padstow

"Nice B and B convenient for Padstow and N Cornwall"
A mixed experience. Room was large, clean and fairly modern with patio doors out to a shared deck, which was a bonus, but no net curtains to the glass doors, so one had to draw the main curtains when dressing or relaxing. Modern electrics with fire alarm in bedroom and emergency lighting in the bathroom, so one felt safe, but bedside lamps not properly secured to the wall and the switch was loose and not easy to reach from the bed. No information pack or tea/coffee making facility, or even water glasses, in the room. ( Cost of the room was comparable to a major motel chain so I am comparing our experience to that standard) Excellent shower in the bathroom, with plenty of hot water and pressure. Shampoo and conditioner were provided, but no shelf in the shower cubical, so they had to stand in the shower tray. No toilet- roll holder in the bathroom so the roll had to stand on the cistern. Reception a little haphazard, but we were expected and welcomed. Dinner was excellent but service was a little hit and miss and showed a lack of training. Staff were amiable and willing but hesitant and unsure. Barman/ wine waiter stood around twirling what appeared to be a bottle opener round his finger like he was practising to be a gun-slinger. A little disconcerting. Breakfast was fine, but no caffeine-free hot drink available. Altogether, this was a pleasant 2 day stay, slightly marred by small things which could easily be corrected, with a little attention to detail.

"1st tip to Cornwall"
We had a lovely few days at treliver farm. It was lovely and quiet and had such a restful atmosphere after we had been out all day. Jenny was wonderful and greeted us like old friends. She has great knowledge of the best places to visit which we did. The breakfasts we had were good only sorry we never got time to sample one of Jenny's cream teas. Maybe next time.

"Good hotel, lovely staff, comfy bed and good food"
Excellent value for money, spotlessly clean. Great location for touring, but own transport best here as not a lot in walking distance. Owners John and Rod are excellent hosts.

"Gorgeous beach front hotel with great food & staff"
We stayed at the Sands for our anniversary weekend and couldn't have had a better time. The hotel was lovely, our room was huge, the staff were very friendly and the view was great. I personally didn't like the town centre however it is so easy to get around to other towns and villages that this wouldn't stop me recommending to others. There is a lot to do within the hotel however as our weather wasn't great we didn't try this out. Also, we don't have children however the facilities for kids looked great and I noticed a babysitting monitor in our room.

"Good location but lacks finishing touches"
Could be so much more. The location is beautiful. The pool was ice cold and need of a revamp and the steam room wasn't working. The bed was uncomfortable and the room was dirty behind the bedside cabinets. The showers in the other rooms were very loud!

Best Breakfast so far out of 5 UK hotels we have stayed at. Doubt we will find better. Staff friendly and helpful. Hotel needs a bit of love and attention to tidy up front yard and fix little things that don't work in the room eg bathroom door not shutting. Most annoying thing was hotel allowed a guest to have a dog in their room and it yapped in when we were trying to sleep. Give it a tidy up to improve functionality and presentation and would rate it better,

"Return autumn break."
Pleased to report that no problems were experienced during my stay. Comfortable room, excellent breakfast and the staff were professional in their approach. Try it! Milder climate than the rest of the UK,even in late October.

"Ok stay, very friendly staff "
Staff friendly and helpful throughout hotel. Room clean. Gorgeous cocktail in the chic bar. Towels lovely and big. Room was small, but clean and comfortable. Eco friendly. Good choice at breakfast with a fabulous view. Bit busy around the small buffet area, and would have liked a bit more coffee, but the view was an excellent distraction. Heard the tv in the room next door and every movement in the room above including a balling child at 5am. It was noisy throughout our stay. Decor in dining area was not my thing, felt cheap, not a fan of plastic chairs. I would recommend this only due to location. A hotel that caters for families and all age groups and perhaps not aimed at people like me 😀
