This is an open and bright beach home on the desirable Anastasia Island beach called Butler Beach. It has an in-ground pool and heated spa in the backyard with plenty of deck space for sunning yourself after spending a relaxing morning at the beach. Fully fenced backyard, but be careful with small dogs as the metal fence has 4 inch gaps. Two huge covered screened-in porches face the pool deck area and there is a ping pong table located on the second floor screened-in porch. The house has two televisions--one large smart tv in the living room and a smaller smart TV in one of the upstairs bedroom. The open floor plan features tall ceilings and great flow from the eat-in kitchen to the great room and into the dining area. The master suite features large closet, a large bathroom and there are two wonderful East facing covered porches. The St. Augustine and St Johns County area have a great variety of golf courses for players of every level and skill. There are bicycles for rent, as well, nearby. Butler Beach, where this house is located, is known as one of the most beautiful beaches in the northeast of Florida. It’s an expansive white powder beach! You’ll find fisherman, bikers when the tide recedes, walkers, surfers, kite boarders, shell gatherers, and of course sun bathers! St. Augustine city center, only 10 minutes north, is the most ancient, gorgeous city in Florida...and America for that matter! It hosts restaurants, stunning historic churches, some of the finest art galleries and a myriad of chic boutique shops. The first Friday of every month features an Art Walk, where some galleries even serve refreshments and stay open in the evening. As you walk cobble stone streets you have opportunity to explore history all around you, often hearing church bells. You can sight see through horse and buggy or trolley tours, or just shop til you drop! You will want to return year after year! Pets and Service Animals: You must let us know if you are bringing an animal to the home, even if it is a service animal! It's important to let the cleaners know. Up to 2 dogs are allowed with a nonrefundable pet fee. They must be less than 50lbs each and no aggressive breeds. NO CATS! Please do not allow your dogs to jump up onto the beds or couches. If the dogs are accustomed to being allowed on the furniture at home, please bring blankets to protect the surfaces. If you forget to bring blankets, let us know and we will provide you with some. If you bring a pet and do not tell us or pay the fee, we will charge your damage deposit for the pet fee plus $100 for the unexpected extra services required to clean the house. Important info about pool heating and fees: Both the spa and the pool will be at the same temperature if you choose to heat the pool because they share the same plumbing and heater. Most people prefer a heated spa in colder temperatures to a heated pool because the spa is set to 101 degrees and the pool heater would be set to 85 degrees. If the daytime air temp doesn't get above 58 degrees the pool will have a difficult time staying heated. The heating of the spa is included with your stay. If you want to heat the entire pool we have an additional heating fee of $199 plus $25 per night to maintain the temperature. If you arrive at the house and change your mind about the pool heating, the initial heating fee of $199 will not be refunded. Our pool technician comes on Tuesdays to check the chemicals and Fridays to clean. Our lawn/landscape professional comes on Wednesdays. These dates are subject to change based on weather or other factors, but in general that is when they are scheduled. The cleaning company provides a limited amount of basic necessities (toilet paper, trash bags, dishwasher/laundry soap, etc.) to get you started, you will want to bring some with you. Garbage and recycling must be taken out to the street Sunday night for Monday morning pickup. Per St Johns County regulations, only ten people are allowed per rental, not counting children 12-years-old or younger. That means this property is allowed up to 10 adults and the rest of the guests must be 12 and under. We don't offer refunds or reschedule stays during hurricane season, even if there is an evacuation order. The pool was a great plus and our littles loved it. The location is perfect. It's close to everything you need, but in a location where it's almost as if you have your own private beach. The walk to the beach is short and easy. You will need assistance with any carts of beach items you have though because the boardwalk does have some steps. Not a hard thing though. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was very well stocked, and there was plenty of room for the kids to play and for everyone to have their own space. Lots of places for family time as well. It was great sitting on the screened porch and watching the kids in the pool. The pool is long and narrow, but our teenagers enjoyed it. The house was nice and we slept well. There was plenty of space for all of us to relax without feeling cramped. The pool was a perfect size for our kids and adults to relax in! The other thing is neighbors are a little close but it didn't bother us because we stayed in or were out at the pool/beach when they were out. Very quiet neighborhood and close to restaurants. Our family very much enjoyed our stay at Ocean Breeze. The pool is wonderful. Our six-year-old granddaughter couldn't wait to get in the pool every morning and learned to swim there. The house was roomy and clean inside and had everything we needed. It was a short walk to the beach, which was nice. About 15 minutes to downtown St Augustine which was perfect for us. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub with our babies. All bedrooms are upstairs except the bunk bed, which is in a cubby downstairs (not much privacy for that one). The big table was great for family game nights and dinners. We would definitely stay here again. We have already booked another trip in one of their other properties! ##### Lee Ann C. The house was in a nice quiet neighborhood and close walking distance to the beach. A couple of items to note: The refrigerator was extremely loud and the person sleeping in the futon bunk had to wear earplugs to sleep The dishwasher was horrible and once we ran it couldn’t tell if dishes were clean so often hand washed dishes. The dryer destroyed 2 shirts that got caught inside during the drying cycle. The pool is nice and hot tub was wonderful! I would definitely stay here again ##### Robin H. Aug 28, 2023 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Enjoyable vacation house This was a great place to stay for our family of 8 --a 1-yr old, a 4&5 yr old, 4 parents and a grandmother all found areas of the house enjoyable. The pool provided hours of fun, the beach was not crowded, though the walk there was more like 8+ minutes with the children. The owner was very responsive and the ping pong table was a great hit. Water pressure varied, some beds were soft and noisy, and there were issues with the pool -sometimes we had to fill the pool and the hot tub just heated the whole pool and never got hot enough itself. Bring your own beach equipment and body wash, but the owner provided enough laundry and dishwasher soap for the 4 days we were there. We would come back again. ##### Laura D. We had some visitors for about a week. The house was great. There was sun in the morning out by the pool, then later in day on the porch next to the pool and then on the west facing porch on the second floor. The management team, David and Patti and others, were very responsive. There were a couple of issues in the beginning that were addressed very promptly. We had the pool heated and it worked fine. The neighborhood is great for walking around and since the house is on a dead end, there is no traffic. The host, David had contacted us that morning .He was a text or call away the whole time we were there. I had packed too much extra stuff. This home was complely stocked.The kitchen was a delight to cook in . The home is really spacious 3 of the bedrooms have an outside balcony.One had a ping pong table which my neices loved The bathrooms are not tight at all. The living areas were big enough so we could all be together. 9 adults + . But plenty of spaces for alone time. The pool and hot tub area was wonderful ,we did not use it as i expected but it was clean and maintained while we were there. There is a path to the beach a few houses over It was a wonderful place for our 2023 Thanksgiving Memories. Well worth the $$$ ##### Clara W. There were 7 adults, 1 child and 2 teens. The spa was popular with many but the water temperature was too chilly for swimming since we didn't request that the pool be heated. We had some difficulty getting into the house but that was immediately solved with one phone call. The living room does not have enough seating for the number of people without moving furniture. The outside porch is a spacious place to spend time when the weather is warmer. We did spend a few hours on the beach one day. There was intermittent rain the other days. Being Christmas vacation, there were other activities to keep us occupied. We joined the crowds at Nights of Lights in downtown St.Augustine but avoided the traffic by parking outside the city and riding the free shuttle. We do highly recommend this home for your vacation. Jun 26, 2024 Liked: Check-in, communication, listing accuracy #### Not clean up on arrival The downstairs floors were swept but quite dirty when we arrived. The dishes in the cupboards were greasy and dirty. We realized this was because the dishwasher filter was clogged with old food! Then the AC unit downstairs wasn't working properly, the refrigerator wasn't cooling, and the ice maker wasn't working. All these things combined to leave a poor initial impression. The owner was receptive to our issues however and brought around a window AC unit to help cool downstairs which worked very well and by the next day the regular unit had started working again (the settings had apparently been changed by the prior tenant leading to frozen pipes or something, so once they thawed and started to drain the AC was good! My husband fixed the fridge and I cleaned our the dishwasher filter then rewashed all the dishes and glasses. Our family enjoyed our stay after this was all taken care of. The rooms upstairs were all very comfortable and bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The washer and dryer worked well, and everyone enjoyed the pool. A few suggestions for the owner: have a rack on the screened porch for towels, add an outside shower for rinsing after the beach instead of the nearly unusable hose, and do some landscaping at the entrance. ##### Joanne D.
