This is an open and bright beach home on the desirable Anastasia Island beach called Butler Beach. It has an in-ground pool and heated spa in the backyard with plenty of deck space for sunning yourself after spending a relaxing morning at the beach. Fully fenced backyard, but be careful with small dogs as the metal fence has 4 inch gaps. Two huge covered screened-in porches face the pool deck area and there is a ping pong table located on the second floor screened-in porch. The house has two televisions--one large smart tv in the living room and a smaller smart TV in one of the upstairs bedroom. The open floor plan features tall ceilings and great flow from the eat-in kitchen to the great room and into the dining area. The master suite features large closet, a large bathroom and there are two wonderful East facing covered porches. The St. Augustine and St Johns County area have a great variety of golf courses for players of every level and skill. There are bicycles for rent, as well, nearby. Butler Beach, where this house is located, is known as one of the most beautiful beaches in the northeast of Florida. It’s an expansive white powder beach! You’ll find fisherman, bikers when the tide recedes, walkers, surfers, kite boarders, shell gatherers, and of course sun bathers! St. Augustine city center, only 10 minutes north, is the most ancient, gorgeous city in Florida...and America for that matter! It hosts restaurants, stunning historic churches, some of the finest art galleries and a myriad of chic boutique shops. The first Friday of every month features an Art Walk, where some galleries even serve refreshments and stay open in the evening. As you walk cobble stone streets you have opportunity to explore history all around you, often hearing church bells. You can sight see through horse and buggy or trolley tours, or just shop til you drop! You will want to return year after year! Pets and Service Animals: You must let us know if you are bringing an animal to the home, even if it is a service animal! It's important to let the cleaners know. Up to 2 dogs are allowed with a nonrefundable pet fee. They must be less than 50lbs each and no aggressive breeds. NO CATS! Please do not allow your dogs to jump up onto the beds or couches. If the dogs are accustomed to being allowed on the furniture at home, please bring blankets to protect the surfaces. If you forget to bring blankets, let us know and we will provide you with some. If you bring a pet and do not tell us or pay the fee, we will charge your damage deposit for the pet fee plus $100 for the unexpected extra services required to clean the house. Important info about pool heating and fees: Both the spa and the pool will be at the same temperature if you choose to heat the pool because they share the same plumbing and heater. Most people prefer a heated spa in colder temperatures to a heated pool because the spa is set to 101 degrees and the pool heater would be set to 85 degrees. If the daytime air temp doesn't get above 58 degrees the pool will have a difficult time staying heated. The heating of the spa is included with your stay. If you want to heat the entire pool we have an additional heating fee of $199 plus $25 per night to maintain the temperature. If you arrive at the house and change your mind about the pool heating, the initial heating fee of $199 will not be refunded. Our pool technician comes on Tuesdays to check the chemicals and Fridays to clean. Our lawn/landscape professional comes on Wednesdays. These dates are subject to change based on weather or other factors, but in general that is when they are scheduled. The cleaning company provides a limited amount of basic necessities (toilet paper, trash bags, dishwasher/laundry soap, etc.) to get you started, you will want to bring some with you. Garbage and recycling must be taken out to the street Sunday night for Monday morning pickup. Per St Johns County regulations, only ten people are allowed per rental, not counting children 12-years-old or younger. That means this property is allowed up to 10 adults and the rest of the guests must be 12 and under. We don't offer refunds or reschedule stays during hurricane season, even if there is an evacuation order. The house was amazing. The kitchen had every appliance and item you could need and was stocked with basic spices, and kitchen items which is always nice to find. The common area spaces were big, we were able to have the whole family over for breakfast and there was plenty of space of the kids, grandparents, great aunt and uncle and moms and dads to hang out. Very close to the beach which we got to enjoy, along with the pool and the hot tub.The house has 3 large bedrooms for families and 3 smallers rooms for individuals or couples. We felt we got a great value for the price paid.The downstairs bedroom lacks some privacy, no one can see in, but there is a gap at the top of the high ceiling where you can hear what's happening in the rest of the house (and especially on the stairs). As a single person, it was no problem and the kids and I had fun hollering back and forth to each other and I technically had the best location and a private bathroom, but a couple may want to aware if they want supreme privacy.Would definitely recommend and stay again, and that was the consensus from the whole group. ##### Laura C. The pool was a great plus and our littles loved it. The location is perfect. It's close to everything you need, but in a location where it's almost as if you have your own private beach. The walk to the beach is short and easy. You will need assistance with any carts of beach items you have though because the boardwalk does have some steps. Not a hard thing though. The beds were comfortable, the kitchen was very well stocked, and there was plenty of room for the kids to play and for everyone to have their own space. Lots of places for family time as well. The large bedroom upstairs has a step down that I never saw. I was carrying things in my hands and fell completely down in the floor. Thank God it didn't hurt me bad, but it could have being I'am 64 years old and have been struggling with sciatica for a few months now. I asked them to please put a sign of some sort letting people know about the step down so Nobody gets hurt. The house is somewhat dated and the first floor kitchen and family room feel a little dark and cavernous. The second floor is very spacious; there are plenty of beds and bedrooms which makes this a good choice for families. The location is good; I love this part of the St Augustine Beach area because the beach is not too busy. Overall the pictures do the house justice so what you see is what you get. Would recommend to those who are OK with an old beach house vibe and don’t need the newest, fanciest place. ##### Ansley B. We have been coming to Butler Beach for many years. Pool was great for our grandkids. An added bonus this year, one of our daughters got engaged at the beach!! The home was spacious enough for everyone to have space to spread out and relax. The kids loved the pool and adults relaxed in the evening in the hot tub. With just a short walk to the beach we went daily. Sunrise in the morning watching the dolphins feed was my favorite time. The coffee shop just down the street “kookaburra” has a fantastic brew! The kitchen was perfectly equipped for a nice meal at the house with a glass of wine. Plenty of room, loved the hot tub and the close proximity to the beach. Lots to do in St Augustine! There were a few issues which were promptly resolved. Good communication. The house is big and comfortable for all of us.The beach was a walking distance and you can even see it thru the second floor balcony. We didn’t have any inconveniences.
