This was our first time in Southampton, UK and we chose this beautiful little place for one night as we were leaving for a cruise the next day. The property looked like something out of a Jane Eyre novel- beautiful! We found that they had just opened this hotel about a month ago so there were a few things not working, one of which was the lift (which was not a problem). Another thing - for the patron: If you are at the bar, having a good time, and the bartender/manager asks you for your house key to know where to bill your tab, please do so without question. Otherwise you may experience the repercussion of being escorted off the premises by a police officer without a refund for your paid room. As a witness, I found it extreme to warrant that kind of behavior from the manager, but, I'm warning all future patrons.

Middle of nowhere, if you don’t drive you are stuck, like we were. Hotel is lovely and staff are friendly. Food though is a big disappointment. We had evening meal and it took 1hr 45 mins to arrive, then it wasn’t edible. We paid £30 for breakfast this morning and it was cold and part from the croissants there wasn’t much else to eat, I won’t be staying again unfortunately
