Nice hotel up on the hills and the view from our room was amazing and the service from the front desk to the breakfast area and the shuttle driver and waiters very helpful We are really thankful to Nello at the front desk for helping us to book all the tours. We really enjoy everything Capri, Amalfi and Positano tours. The restaurants close to the hotel and the ones at Sorrento town amazing food and the little stores in the town. We highly recommend this hotel.

Nice hotel. If you are young and you would like to enjoy night life in Sorrento then this hotel is not for you. The bus to hotel from town takes 25 minutes, and the last but from bus station leaves at 10:15 pm. It is a good hotel for seniors, or families. That was my only issue that I really would like to enjoy city and I could not due to distance of hotel to city.

I enjoyed our stay very much. The staff were all exceptional in all areas. Very friendly and most spoke English. Add breakfast to your stay. The pool was nice and not too busy. Area is too far to walk to big town but 5 min walk to small local village if you need anything. I rented a car from Naples and drove to the town in 10 min. Drive to Positano in 40 min. Hotel booked a Ferry trip to Capri for me. Very safe area. This was a mother daughter trip and I was happy and safe the whole time. Highly recommended! Will be returning.

Staff are highly attentive, welcoming, and accommodating. Clean, safe, and quiet location. Free shuttle bus service into Sorrento and back is efficient and runs nearly hourly. Air conditioned too! Recommend booking seats in advance at reception due to demand.

Overall a good experience with awesome views of Serranto. Located 20-25 minutes from the City Center by car, the hotel does provide a shuttle to and from the City Center. The property & rooms are a little tired looking and the TV was smaller than my computer screen at home. However, the best part of this property was an unexpected surprise - just a 10 minute nature trail walk away you’ll discover a charming little village (Massa Lubrense) We had the best meals at very reasonable prices at Buenos Aires Pizzeria restaurant.

Beautiful hotel with great view of Bay of Naples and Vesuvius. We asked to upgrade, and the staff was very accommodating. Great restaurant on site, with good breakfast and dinner. Free shuttle taking customers to Sorrento. The entire staff was amazing!! The only negative thing I have to say is that the bed was very hard and uncomfortable.

Beautiful views, yummy included breakfast (you can have it next to the pool and enjoy the views), shuttle available back and forth to the hotel (recommend putting your name down for the time you plan to go to the centre, hotel is close to a small village with plenty of food and gelato options! Staff were very friendly and they were able to secure us a taxi to our train station on a holiday with a last minute notice! We had some wifi connection trouble but I think that could be due to the hotel’s location on the mountains! The hotel also offers a bar, caffe, table tennis, pool, and a restaurant if you’re looking for a place to just stay in and relax! It was overall a great experience and would definitely go back again!

Great experience, the hotel is owned by the sweetest family who are very accommodating to guest’s needs! The sea view is extraordinary, the breakfast is great, and the hotel offers free shuttle service to the heart of Sorrento which is extremely convenient!

The staff were wonderful and the location was perfect. The pool was a welcome relief from the hot day sun. The hotel is near the little town of St. Agata where there so many great restaurants.

Charming Hotel with Great Service!
While the Grand Hermitage may have lost some of its original splendor, it has not lost any of its hospitality, incredibly attentive staff and amazing views (be sure to book a balcony room). If you are looking for a flashy hotel with modern appointments, this is not the place for you. The hotel is about 15 minutes from downtown Sorrento, but has a shuttle that provides service during certain hours of the day. Some updates could be made (a little more comfortable beds for example), but the charm of the place more than makes up for a fancy door handle or light fixture.

Grand Hotel Hermitage was one of the most pleasant and comfortable hotels my boyfriend and I have ever stayed in. The view is indescribable, the pool is clean and sizable, and the pool deck is spacious and beautiful. The rooms were large with two balconies, perfect for enjoying the sun from. The hotel is also extremely responsible with hand sanitizer everywhere and they are constantly disinfecting everything and everyone was wearing masks. The absolute best part of the hotel though are the staff. They go above and beyond for you, and are always offering the best advice and help for the area. They were so accommodating to us it was really special. This is the perfect getaway on the entire Amalfi cost to relax or work from!! I wish so badly we didn’t have to leave.

The staff was always extremely helpful and polite. Staff met us at our car and check in was quick and easy. The property is about 20 to 30 minutes from Sorrento city center, but the hotel offers free shuttle service. The rooms, however, were terrible. Tiny, uncomfortable beds. There were 2 other chairs in the room which we didn't feel safe sitting on. For the money, the amenities were poor. We had dinner and breakfast included. Again the service was great, but the food was bad. Cooked breakfast was always cold. Overall, we felt the accommodations were very overpriced.

The views are spectacular from this hotel as it sits on top of the hill (it's a bit of a drive). There is a quaint town within walking distance behind the hotel I highly suggest visiting and exploring. The hotel itself has very attentive and lovely staff. The hotel arranged a private car from the Naples train station then back to the airport, which was a very reasonable price comparatively (110 Euros each way). The hotel also booked our tour to Capri which was amazing. Thank you to Gloria and the staff for their hospitality! For the hotel itself we stayed in the villa romita which is a separate building. It is clean and quaint. This is an older facility. We booked a double bed which was two twins pushed together, if you choose this room ask for the pillow topper (much more comfortable). Also the hair dryer is a tube in the wall that blows cool air, minor inconvenience but heads up to bring your own if you require. I cannot comment on the food but the restaurant appeared to be full every night. There is a free shuttle (need to make a reservation) that operates until 10pm if you want to go into town. Overall beautiful views, pleasant staff, and great location to explore capri/almafi. If you are looking for something more modern with bells and whistles this may not be the place for you.

Great place run by lovely people, they can not help you enough.All very welcoming and soon remembered our names and room number, food was really good and we had dinner there a couple of times even though we only booked breakfast, they run a free shuttle bus to Sorrento centre as well, the views from the hotel are breathtaking and you can drive to Sorrento centre in 10 mins down the winding roads. Lots of sun beds and free towels to use by the pool and the Gelato in the pool bar was fantastic, the rooms were a little dated but were very very clean and have basic sky tv would definitely go and visit again

Our first visit to Italy and it didn't disappoint
Excellent family run hotel with friendly, helpful staff. The hotel is in a great location just a short walk from the village of Sant Agata and there are regular complimentary shuttle buses from the hotel to Sorrento and various excursions to opt into. The views from the hotel are stunning. Food good. Would have liked to stay longer.

We stayed for 4 nights at the Grand Hermitage and it was a lovely experience, the staff cannot do enough for you no question is a pain and they are really friendly and go above and beyond. The rooms were spacious and very clean with a fridge which you can put your own food / drink in. We stayed in the Villa Romita part of the hotel and the only slight issue is the noise travels in the hallway but it wasn’t very noisy so didn’t bother us much. The food they serve is really good especially the al a crate menu that they have for dinner and the buffet breakfast has everything you’d expect and would need. Thank you very much!

Lovely family run hotel where they make you feel welcome from arrivsl to departure. Organised transfers to and from airport. Stayed in villa, this could do with a lift, liked having towels provided at pool side without charge. Would put real cups in room for hot beverage, menus could do with more variety. Some tomatoes included at breakfast for flavour. Glad we did not opt for full board as dinner choice was requested at breakfast.

Dear Mrs Carroll, thank you for your review, in the description we inform that Villa Romita has not lift but we are planning to build one shortly. In regards of pool towel we provide always for free anytime. For igienic reason we provide paper cups instead of real cup but if request we provide also real cups just needed to request. We have a full a ' la carte menù with pleantyu option while Hb we only ask a preorder to avoid waste of food. looking forward to welcoming in the future

Just back from this hotel, and had a wonderful holiday, the staff are amazing, so helpful and happy to please, the sea view rooms are worth the upgrade and are amazing to sit and look at the view with a glass of wine!! Great shuttle service to and from sorrento town fro hotel which is free!!! From the hotel a short walk from through the hotel grounds and your at small village with great restaurants to eat at night or if desired, we did and loved it. Definitely would return here, as a lot of Italian hotels it’s a little tired round the edges, but boy does it make up for it in customer service. Rooms are roomy and nice and comfy.

Like - staff is professional and always happy to help - free Wifi, no data caps. - beautiful sea view - ping pong table Dislike - Aircon was not working due to "contractor problems" - Wifi is terribly slow and very unstable - despite remote location, my sensitive nose could not not notice constant nearby traffic (small Italian 3 wheel trucks cause a lot of stink!)

Good morning, thank you for your review, sorru abouty the a/c but we have a central system and the weather in may is been terrible and cold so most of guests require heating in the room At least regards the noise is really strange while we use the 3 wheel 4/5 time s during the day... hope you will visit us in the future to offer a great service.

Grand Hotel Hermitage & Villa Romita is lovely and better to stay. The view from our balcony was amazing with Venezius Montain. The staff was friendly and so helpful. A special mention to Renato who made it so pleasant for us. If I return to Sorrento, I will certainly stay here again.
