« Greatly enjoyed our stay here for a week in February. The house was home base for us as we visited the three nearby National Wildlife Refuges. House was very clean and stocked with all essentials. Clear communications with the host added to the positive experience. Was third winter we have visited Albemarle/Pamlico peninsula to view wildlife. When we return, we will definitely try and book this lodging again. »

« Great place and perfect for a guy to get away from it all, or take all the wildlife found in this area. Well-located near Phelps Lake and the Pungo Unit. It is isolated, so a visit to the grocery store on the way in will save you time if you think you will be going out for groceries later. I thoroughly enjoyed Birthday House. The host was very responsive, and the amenities were great. »

« Great communication with the place. House and room were clean and comfortable. Nice bathroom. Enjoyed the snacks in the room. Breakfast was very good and very friendly staff. Short walk to the nice downtown. Only drawback is you have to go to the house next door for coffee and breakfast. Would be nice to have coffee in our room or in the house. Overall very pleased with our stay. »
