Although we didn’t use the restaurant, we had a few drinks at the Norfolk tap which was lovely and staff great. We popped into the hotel for a nightcap and had a lovely chat to the night porter. "The hotel is in DESPERATE need of refurbishment. It’s incredibly run-down. The carpets are in a state in the communal areas a bedrooms and the whole place just needs work - drafty windows, peeling paint, scruffy furniture. But the building is lovely, the rooms are spacious and they are SUPER welcoming of dogs. The fridge was missing from our room, and the swimming pool is also needing some work. The bar food is a lot of frozen stuff, and not very nice. Think Weatherspoons. Breakfast buffet is good though. So much potential there, grounds are wonderful. Location great. Just needs a good clean and decorating! "
