Brilliant weekend

Absolutely loved staying here. Tina and Col were brilliant and very welcoming. The cottage was gorgeous and dog friendly. The breakfast was delicious. Thank you both very much. We will definitely back in the summer.

A wonderful Easter break.

A lovely Easter break with the family in the beautiful Dales. A superb location where our little boy (5) could run and play freely and we could enioy the gorgeous landscape. Our hosts were so welcoming and caring, and even went above and beyond when our little one wasn't feeling so well on the second night. They couldn't help us enough. Lovely breakfast, relaxed and calm atmosphere and some wonderful doggys and chickens much to our 5 year olds enjoyment! We will definitely be back!!

Trop cher. Pas bon rapport qualité prix

Le village est ravissant et typique des Dales, alors nous avons été déçus en arrivant au B&B par l'état du jardin, avec des détritus dans tous les coins (vieille télé, lino, ferrailles...). L'accueil était correct mais pas chaleureux. La chambre est jolie mais les matelas sont de mauvaise qualité (on ressent les ressorts ) et le lit pour adultes ne fait que 120 cm! Sinon, le petit déjeuner était bon. Nous déconseilons cet endroit, vu le prix beaucoup trop cher pour la qualité du service.

If you would like to experience living in a 400 year old cottage, with many original features, surrounded by so much beauty and peacefulness, then this is the place for you! I cannot recommend it enough. Upon arrival, we were welcomed by hens and cats. We were then shown to our ‘living area’, bathroom and upstairs - a double bed and bunk beds. The hosts were so welcoming and helpful. There were so many extras included - books, binoculars, tea/coffee/hot chocolate/fresh milk/squashes/biscuits/sweets, fireplace - with a lovely armchair, information about the area, the most incredible breakfast - using fresh eggs from the hens… to name a few! It was warm, cosy and idyllic. Thank you so much for welcoming us into your beautiful cottage.

Just 1 night, but hopefully we'll be back!

We had a comfortable and quiet one night's stay at Sweetbriar Cottage B&B. The bedroom was the perfect layout for our needs, and we appreciated having the downstairs living/dining space. The hosts were super friendly and welcoming, and couldn't do enough for us. Our breakfast was delicious and it was nice to have a selection of cereals and fruit for the early risers in our party. The location is superb for exploring the Yorkshire countryside. My daughter appreciated having use of the swings in the camping field, and loved seeing the chickens.

Great stay

We had a lovely, comfortable stay at Sweetbriars. It’s an excellent base for exploring the Dales. Colin and Tina were wonderful hosts who gave us great recommendations and made a very tasty breakfast. They also made a fuss of our son which he loved :) Thanks for a great time! We’ll be back!

Dales stroll

Fantastic B&B right on the Dales way great room plenty of tea, coffee biscuits and proper milk (not little pots). Very powerful shower plus bath, nice seating area and amazing farmhouse breakfast

Refreshing

Clean and comfortable. Wish we'd stayed longer. Excellent traditional pub down road. Good base. Only negative was having to go downstairs to use loo but wouldn't stop us going back.

Lovely clean accommodation, there is a lounge and bathroom downstairs and the bedroom is upstairs. Breakfast was really nice and there was a good choice. The location and view is stunning. All in all a great stay with friendly hosts and even friendlier dogs.

You expect a bedroom and bathroom at a b&b, but having the sitting room too was a real bonus. Ideal for a family with younger children, because they can go off to bed and the adults can get some time and space to themselves. It's sort of part way between a b&b and a holiday let with the best of both worlds.

The view was spectacular from our bedroom window of the cottage, the breakfast was made from all local produce & tasted amazing 5☆, the host Colin is friendly & has great knowledge of the area. Dogs were happy & also welcome in the local pub which is within 100yds & the food is amazing in a friendly welcoming pub, I recomend the steak & ale pie & washed down with the local ales.

It was lovely to find a perfect spot with a great view. We had a sitting area, bathroom and bedroom to enjoy spending time in during our short stay. We then had a fabulous cooked breakfast in the morning.

Excellent stay

Great, picturesque location, and the self-contained suite was ideal for our family with two toddlers- they tell us the things they loved the most were the bunk beds and the friendly dogs. Owner was very flexible with regards to our uncertain arrival time and was helpful in pointing us to local attractions, such as the Kettlewell Scarecrow Festival. Breakfast was superb, too. We’ll be back for longer next time!

This is our second time at this B & B and we stayed 3 nights here and loved it. The breakfasts were amazing. My son (25) said that Colin cooked the best breakfasts of our whole trip. The area is quiet and Colin personally took us to the local pub so we could book a table for dinner. This was an extremely busy time for Colin, but he always made time for us. The accomodation is really like a little self-contained cottage. I can't wait to come back. We all loved our time in Starbotton.

We stayed at Sweetbriar in June 2019 for 5 nights as a family of 2 adults and a 2 year old. The setup of the rooms is perfect for a young family as the kid(s) can sleep upstairs on the bunk-bed while the adults can relax downstairs behind a closed door in a separate lounge. There is a large lawn in the rear garden with a few hens that our daughter loved along with Harry the dog. Colin was great and helped us with suggestions for things to do on the rainy days and nothing was too much trouble. The breakfasts are fantastic.

Great place for a family, great breakfasts

We were a family of 4 with a dog and this place was perfect. Could put the kids to bed upstairs and stay up late downstairs in our own sitting area. Stairs are steep but only for real young or old. Colin did a great job at making us feel welcome. He is quite quiet to start with but warms up conversationally after a while. Dog loved it too!

The best of the Dales

A very nice and cosy place to stay in, owner very friendly and helpful, room - actually 2 rooms - were very nice and comfortable. Definitely worth recommending to others and when again in the area I'd try there first. Oh, look for the rainbow gate 😊
