"We stayed one night as a stopover on our way home to Scotland. We had a superior double room in the lodge part of the hotel. Stunning room. Very spacious even with what looked like a super king bed. Lovely to have the little terrace space. Had a delicious meal in the restaurant and excellent breakfast in the morning. Loved the different options to normal offerings with overnight oats and yoghurt smoothies. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. Lovely dog friendly hotel which we’d love to...

"Its a village pub. Vegi food was disgraceful but fine if you want a supermarket quiche warmed up and you want to pay £16 for it with re-fried chips! Window was held open by a block of wood! Bed was very rock and roll!"

"Second stay at this hotel and room was very clean with a large bathroom. Bed was very comfortable. Staff were very friendly and helpful, breakfast was good but coffee could have been hotter. Bar area was good with plenty of choice of drinks. Located in a nice quiet and secluded venue and ideal for visiting York and surrounding area."
