"Really nice place. Friendly staff! Kumily is great for exploring Periyar. The hotel is 10-15 min walk from the entry point into Periyar national park. Clean and spacious room. No hot water in the shower head. However, there was a tap with hot water in knee-height and a plastic bucket. So it was possible to get a hot shower using that. "

"Everything is in order, and the room is clean with a good AC and a fine bathroom. But at this price point, you naturally expect more. The interior design is very basic, and the recreational room feels like an afterthought, just a carrom board, a dart setup, and a very small TT table with no TT ball. It definitely needs an upgrade. The terrace pool is a nice highlight, but overall the property would benefit from better amenities to match the price."

"The front desk staff was good, the breakfast was excellent and tasty. Two issued I had was there was another group that was playing loud music near us and it was bothering us as we were trying to put the kids to sleep. We also had a issues where the staff was suppose to deliver a case of water we brought and they delivered it to the wrong room. They replaced it with a case but just two small issues. Overall good experience and would stay again if going through the area. "

"Nice hotel for overnight stop . Lovely to look off back balcony and see water buffalo,wild pigs , native mongoose and the Indian jungle. The location is good with a wine and beer restaurant next door and a number of local tourists shops along the street. It is also located very close to the bus departure for the boat jungle cruises. The only downside we had were the pilled sheets with lumpy little balls, no coffee or tea facility , no safe, no food at all. However we would recommend the hotel...

"I had a great stay at Thekkady Haritham Residency! This is a newly renovated property so everything was very clean and I had no issues. The bed was comfortable, the place was quiet and everything worked great. It was excellent value for the price; much more affordable than other options. There are 4 rooms on each floor so it is perfect for groups. I was a solo traveler and enjoyed my stay even with other guests staying there. "We stayed here because the description says 1 minute walk from Peryvar Reserve, it is not. 15 to 20 mins out of Kumily up a very bumpy track. No atmosphere at all. No yoga offered. Evening meal not good, I complained but ignored. Chef shouting in the kitchen. Pool green. Restaurant service not good at all. The best feature is the great taxi driver who works for the hotel. Although it was a VERY expensive service. Check the details before you book. "

"What a place! Just an amazing stay, thanks to brilliant staff and a super-chilled environment. The bungalows are so cute and comfortable. The grounds are so green a lush. The Tiger Team organised a great daytime and nighttime walk in the forest. We saw plenty of animals and loads of birds. Food in the main restaurant is very good. Also the cooking with spices demos are insightful. The small food place net to the bar was a bit disapointing. Overall, I couldn’t recommend Spice Village enough. A true haven of tranquility."

Hotels.com confirmed our stay, we paid for the accommodation, but when we arrived in the hotel, the reception said that there is NO RESERVATION in our name as they DO NOT HAVE A CONTRACT with Hotels.com and that they are fully booked.
