What comes to mind when you think of Summit County? Snow-covered mountain peaks, the exhilarating rush as you swoop down the ski slope or the scent of pine needles mingling with earth on the hiking trails through the woods, perhaps? Needless to say, whatever it is it likely has something to do with sports and nature. In a location that attracts so many world-class athletes and winter sport enthusiasts, it’s almost hard to imagine people having fun off the slopes. But for the locals living here, there’s more to their home than winter sports. That’s where Summit County community events come in; these are happenings created by community members for their fellow residents. These events, unlike the goings on at ski resorts that help you get away from it all, aren’t vacation driven. Summit County’s community events are the niche affairs that make the area more than a destination resort – they make it a home to so many people.

Many daytime Silverthorne, CO, events are centered around holidays. Just when you think Charlie Brown has given up the ghost, Pumpkinfest invades the North Lawn of the pavilion. Kids of all ages are invited to search for their favorite orange gourd while wearing this season’s best costumes. The Holiday Bazaar as a Silverthorne, CO, daytime event happens in early December just in time for the gift-giving season. Local artisans show off their wares, and Santa’s lap is available while he waits patiently to hear children’s requests. Summertime at Meadow Creek Park or Trent Park Pond begins a partnership between Trout Unlimited and the youngest anglers in town for the Silverthorne Fishing Derby. Divided into age groups (up to 15 years old), your tots and teens will be happy and successful because the Department of Wildlife stocks the pond each season. Building on these early skills, kids move on to North Pond where catch-and-release fly-fishing using artificial lures and flies builds techniques for this fishing discipline. Rainbow Park hosts the annual Slide & Slip party. Just like it sounds, kids get wet and fly down the hill at Rainbow Park. Silverthorne dogs get in on the fun, too. Each season before the rec center pool closes for annual maintenance, Fido and friends are invited to go for a dip.
With Lake Dillon just minutes away there’s no shortage of fun water-based activities. But many Silverthorne, CO, daytime events take place at the rec center’s three pools and kids’ fun areas. Each year, locals get wet to participate in the World’s Largest Swimming Lesson. This Guinness Book-sanctioned, multiple-location event builds awareness about the vital importance of teaching swimming skills to prevent drowning. And springtime is not for landlubbers when the rec center holds its annual Pirate Water Safety Day. Young swimmers embark on the silver seas to find treasure and to reinforce basic water skills.

We want you to enjoy your vacation but please remember at all times that this is somebody`s home and we expect you to treat it as if it were your own. No ski boots in the home. Please remove shoes upon entering the home. Please keep the outside area clean! Quiet time (outdoors) is after 10:00 pm.

1. Agreement: 5 Diamond Lodging, INC (“5 Diamond Lodging”), the Owner and Guest agree as follows: Above Guest is an adult over the age of 25 and will be an occupant of the property during the entire reserved period. Other occupants will be family members, friends, or responsible adults. Use of the premises will be denied to persons not falling within the foregoing categories and as a result will have to vacate the property immediately without any refund. No keys will be issued to anyone who is not an adult.

2. Cancellations: Cancellations 61 days or more will receive a 50% refund. Any cancellation within 60 days of arrival: Deposit is forfeited.

3. Security Deposit: The signer of this Agreement agrees to Pay 5 Diamond Lodging the full rental price, which includes a security deposit/damage waiver. A security deposit will be collected for all stays in our executive properties, which must be paid separately and in full by Credit Card approval 30 days prior to check-in. Any damages, losses or excessive cleaning charges incurred by the signer or anyone in signer’s group will be withheld from your security deposit. The security deposit will be refunded after a routine inspection of the property has been made and no damage has been discovered. Agreeing to these terms you alone agree to accept responsibility for full payment of your reservation and the integrity of the property rented.

4. Check In: Check-in time is 4:00 PM. Early check-in times are allowed only when the property is cleaned and ready for occupancy and prior approval through 5 Diamond Lodging is required.

5. Check out: Check-out time is 10:00 AM. Prior approval by 5 Diamond Lodging is required for a late check-out. Please leave all keys, remote controls and garage door openers (if issued) at the location. A replacement fee will be charged for each lost key, remote control or garage door opener if misplaced.

6. Cleaning: Each property will be inspected and cleaned after your departure. The rental fee you have paid will provide for a normal cleaning so that you can enjoy your vacation right up to the last moment. You are required to leave the property in the same general condition in which it was received and follow the checkout checklist at departure.

7. Sleeping Capacity: Guests and all other occupants will be required to vacate the premises and forfeit all fees paid for any of the following: a. Occupancy exceeding the sleeping capacity b. Using the property for any illegal activities including, but not limited to, the possession or consumption of alcohol by persons less than 21 years of age.
c. Causing damage to the premises rented or to any neighboring properties. d. Any other act which interferes with your neighbors’ right to quiet enjoyment of their property. e. Guests will obey the HOA rules and regulations and follow quiet hours from 7am-10pm. No parties or events, loud outdoor music or loud voices. If for any reason law enforcement is called
due to disturbances emanating from the property or grounds there will be a minimum of $250 charged to your credit card per incident. If the short term rental disturbance line is called for any violation of these terms during your stay you may be subject to immediate eviction.
8. Hot tub and Patios: Guest hereby acknowledges that, if the property they have reserved includes a hot-tub, they are fully aware that a hot-tub and the surrounding patio / deck can be dangerous. The deck / patio can be slippery when wet and that injury is likely to occur to anyone who is careless. Guests should observe and adhere to all rules and policies posted at the property. With full knowledge of the above facts and warnings, the undersigned accepts and assumes all risks involved in or related to the use of the hot tub and patio areas.

9. Pets: 5 Diamond Lodging does not allow pets at any of the properties unless the property is designated as “Pet-Friendly”. Additional cleaning charges or Deposits will apply on a case-by- case basis.

10. Smoking: All . Smoking of any kind in the property will result in additional cleaning charges to the credit card on file or will be deducted from your security deposit.

11. What we supply: The property is equipped and set up as fully-furnished, including linens, blankets, pillows, and towels as well as a fully equipped kitchen, TVs, and furnishings. Although we have made every effort to anticipate most guests’ needs, we may not have all the items you are accustomed to having at your home. If there is an item you cannot do without, we suggest bringing it along.

12. What you should bring: Although the bathroom will be stocked with soap, shampoo and conditioner, you might want to bring with you personal items that will make your trip more enjoyable and comfortable.

We really enjoyed our stay! We rented the house for our son’s wedding in the area. Had many deer lounging in the yard and a moose walked through! The photos were accurate and it accommodated our family well. Some areas in the kitchen could have been cleaner and more organized but we had a fabulous time. Loved the large open space of the living room and dining room. Fireplaces were a plus too! Thank you for sharing your home!

Fantastic Family Retreat

Property met all of our expectations. It was a timber frame construction with the same layout and size of our lake home in Spooner Wisconsin however ours is a log construction. The quietness and spaciousness helped us manage our time together and augmented our recovery after a great 5 days on the slopes.

We enjoyed our stay. The main living space was large and the large dining room table was awesome for our group of 10 to have dinner together as well as play games. Plenty of space for everyone to play together or to go off on their own. We would stay here again.

4 Generation Family Gathering

This house allowed us to spend great quality time together. We prepared breakfasts together, experienced mid-day excursions (hiking, shopping in Breckinridge, golfing) and returned to memorable evenings on the deck and at the dining table playing cards. Roomy enough for all 15 of us with only 1 on the sofa pull out in lower level. Trees surround the deck and screened windows let the mountain air in! Just minutes from breweries, bar and grills and restaurants in Silverthorne. Two mornings we hiked trails accessible from the neighborhood.

Had a WONDERFUL stay~The property was exactly as described but even better in person! The kitchen was extremely well stocked; there was abundant basics (towels; bar soap etc.); the roomy hot tub was great for all the apres skiers; the check-in process was EASY and the communication from all the staff was virtually immediate! All questions and requests were easily accommodated- really made it all seamless and fantastic! Adequate hot water was our only tiny issue - but we did have many people trying to get ready at same time - we quickly learned to stagger shower times and reduce length of showers so no one was left in the cold water!! We can't predict the future but if we make another family reunion type ski trip back to the Silverthorne area - we will DEFINITELY stay here again!

Perfect arrangement for a family getaway

This spacious property was perfect for our family group getaway consisting of great-aunt, nieces and nephew and great nieces and nephew, all adults. The multiple bedrooms and baths provided good private space and the big family areas and dining table were great gathering sites. The kitchen is extremely well stocked. It is in a beautiful location, wonderful for scenic neighborhood walks. The main negative is that windows must be opened to cool the interior but many of the crank-out windows need repair. Some cranks do not work, so require extra effort to open and close windows.
