Excellent hotel right next to the subway
This hotel is new, classy, not overly expensive, and is half a block away from Tongji University subway station (line 10), which is extremely convenient; it doesn't take more than a few stations to get to downtown and the touristy areas. The personnel is very kind and professional; the front desk people speak fluent English. The room and the bathroom are new and spacious; there is an AC with thermostat; the bed is big and comfortable. There is a desk and fast wifi. Their smoke-free rooms are indeed smoke-free. There is also a (small) gym in the 3rd floor. Many of the guests are people attending conferences and events at Tongji U., which is one block away from the hotel. The hotel district (Yangpu) is not the most touristy, but it is safe and commercial; the hotel area is typical of the surroundings of a university; the hotel street is safe, has many stores, and is never deserted. There are several cheap restaurants that cater to the students, as well as convenience stores, ATMs and fruit stores. It's not rare to see international students in the area, and a couple of coffee shops even have English speaking staff.

Great Hotel
The hotel is a steal considering it's Shanghai. Again this is not in the city centre. You do get your money's worth as the hotel is clean, feels new and very comfortable. It's extremely close to Tongji subway station (line 10), which can take you to the airport and other busy/touristy spots like Yuyuan Garden, Nanjing Rd etc.

Nice hotel close to subway station
The hotel located in a very convenient area, where is very close to subway station. The hotel does not have a swimming pool. I did not feel very welcomed from the staffs there during the check in and check out. Food over there is not great as well. However, the room is very clean. Given the price of the room, it is still a good choice.

Nice quiet hotel near Tongji University
The hotel is <1 block from the main gate to Tongji University. The line 10 train of Shanghai Metro had a stop on the same block. The front desk staff is courteous and efficient. There is a buffet/all you can eat breakfast available but it was not part of my reservation. Convenient stores and small restaurants close by. Easy to get a taxi. Safe.

Comfortable well appointed hotel
Very nice, clean and comfortable hotel. Close to Tongji University metro stop on Line 10, which gives good access to many city sights. Wifi a bit slow. Beds quite hard, but this is normal in China. Overall, very good.

Very clean hotel and professional staff. All spoke some English and very friendly. Buffet breakfast was Chinese and European food with grill. Excellent Chinese Restaurant on the second floor with traditional food. Local area filled with stores, food and services.

Great hotel in the University district
I have had the opportunity to stay at this hotel twice now. The area around the hotel gives several dining options. The rooms are very clean, and the staff was very accommodating. I have stayed at a lot of different Shanghai area hotels at twice the price of this one, but I can't say I was able to tell a difference. If your travels take you near this area I would suggest staying at the Kingswell, Tongji.

my friend and i stayed in kingswell for 6 nights, i should say that the hotel is really nice ,clean and spacious.the staff there is really nice! by the way, brilliant stay! and also the price is cheap.

Just brilliant. Very nice staff. If I have to attend another event at Tongji University I would stay there again. Being close to subway station line 10 was also convenient.

Generally the hotel is ok. The staffs are friendly. The hotel quality is very ok compared to the room rate. Had an ok stay. The rooms are spacious and reasonable furnished. Only downpoint is that my AC did not work after the 1st day.

Excellent for the price.
Having traveled the world staying in all sorts of hotels, I can say that Kingswell (formerly Days Inn) is an excellent hotel for the price. Perhaps my opinion is biased because I reserved a single large sized bed (King) room, and basically got a corner room that was much larger than the other rooms. The hotel is located very close to the #10 subway line #2 entrance and the staff was courteous and quick. The only quips would be the construction noise and the smell of cigarette smoke in the morning, either coming from the rooms or the cleaning staff/cleaning equipment. Didn't like the showerhead either as it is one of those "rain" types that produce little water pressure. Although these showerheads save the hotel money in water bills, it doesn't do as good of a job as the more traditional water pressured hose shower heads. Restaurant was very good and the hotel was compact, so you didn't need to walk a mile just to get somewhere. All in all, an excellent hotel for the price.

The hotel is very close to line 10 subway station, many restaurants around, and the staff are very friendly. If you would go to Tongjing university, this one is the best choice, and I have been there twice. Overall, it is a very pleasant stay.

The hotel was VERY clean and convenient. Breakfast everyday, English speaking front desk. The only thing that could have been better is an extra key so you could keep things cold in your refrigerator when you are gone all day. That goes for alnost all hotels in China. Super satisfied though!

Excellent 20 day stay at the Days Hotel Tongji
This is my third stay at Days Hotel Tongji. All were extended stays - 10 days to 20 days. That is evidence enough of an excellent hotel. However, this hotel makes the most sense for travelers who are visiting or working at Tongji University, which is only a block away, although Line 10 Metro is a block away and it serves many of the Shanghai tourist areas directly. This stay was lucky because the hotel heavily discounted the deluxe suites. And it was deluxe. The breakfast buffet, included in the room rate is outstanding. Other food service is ok, but not great, but there are a collection of student-oriented restaurants adjacent that are very good and very affordable, e.g. cheap. Highly recommend.

Super nice hotel, Great staff. Ideally suited for those who wish to visit family members studying at Tongji University. Good access to Shanghai metro (2 minute walk) - so really accessible to anywhere in Shanghai

整體上很一般般，酒店房間空調不行，只感覺是風不是冷風，睡覺半夜能熱醒了！！房間有一股霉味，反映意見後服務員只是用空氣清新機來淨化，無論如何也不會換房間，還要求我自己跟Hotel .com來換！！真搞錯，下次不考慮入住

上海中心部から少し離れています。
二泊お世話になりました。ホテルは綺麗で特に問題なく過ごせました。地下鉄10号線同济大学の駅からはとても近いですが、中心部から少し距離があるので不便に感じるかもしれません。夜0時を超えると地下鉄10号線が無くなり、タクシーも捕まらない上に、値段もだいぶ吹っかけられるので帰るのに苦労しました。あと、ここに載っている地図はあてになりませんでした。

Great hotel, great location
Kingswell is a well run hotel with very nice staff. Resonable knowledge in english. Breakfast is OK, again with great staff. Close to the line 10 metro makes the place very good connected wherever you want to go. The only drawback is the internet where the hotel has applied a very heavy filtering making secure international internet access virtually impossible. And they are not prpared to adjust it. If this is a nessesity you must choose one of the big international hotel chains. Despite this I like to stay at the place again and again.

Mycket bra hotell
Hotellet fungerar mycket bra med trevlig personal och bra attention. Trevliga rum, sköna sängar, kuddar och bra dusch. Frukosten är bra enligt lokalt mått. Det enda som inte fungerar är internet om man vill surfa utanför Kina. Då är det i stort helt obrukbart. Det är inte ovanligt på Kinesiska hotell, men detta hotell blockerar trafiken osedvaligt hårt.
