"perfect overnight stay"
We were only on the island for a night and this hotel was perfect to suit our needs. Right by the Ferry dock with easy access to scooter rentals or a taxi to the beaches. Fantastic lobster dinner as well!

"Unexpected Surprises..."
The ABC is at the North Eastern edge of the British Virgin Islands. The hotel is set on kilometres of untouched and wind swept white sand beaches. Walk for hours, and never encounter another person. This pretty, unique and friendly little resort is an unexpected gem set behind natural sand burns, sea grasses and fine white sand pathways. The soul touching blue waters of the tropical and wild Atlantic, frame the luxury tents, exquisite hand crafted caribbean food, friendly staff and wild location. Expect that the hotel is a family run, entrepreneurial work of passion. The remote location on a Caribbean island far away from stores and supplies can reveal the quirks of doing business in such a beautiful and distant location. It's true that menu items may be unavailable for days, certain liquors or beers may be sold out, internet access may be unreliable, or the coffee may be made inconsistently. These are all the gifts of being on the edge of the unexpected... Never mind the small foibles of this grand endeavour; revel in their desire to serve, to feed, and to comfort. Arrive with a realistic expectation and leave fulfilled, whole, calm and nourished.

"Nice Hotel close to marina"
I stayed here for one night before picking up boat at the moorings. Its convenient to several restaurants and town by walking , although sidewalks are in terrible shape. the checkin lady was pleasant and efficient, the room was upstairs and required hauling suitcase u p several flights of stairs. the room was clean and quiet except for the unfortunate road construction going on outside. hopefully finished soon. The room was Spartan but adequate. I probably wouldn't want to stay here for more than one night. Didn't have a sea view and rooms with a view were probably limited at best. makes me question the hotel name . but overall it worked for me and would stay there again in same circumstances.

"Our 5th BEYC Stay - Beautiful, Sailing, Boating"
This was one of our best vacations in memory. We sailed our brains out. We motored to deserted beaches, we drank lots of rum and wine, we swam and floated around in the ocean water, enjoyed the beaches and pool, ate great food, enjoyed the 'to die for' scenery, and were very well served by the staff. At 40 years old, BEYC is a mature venue, but we don't go there to sit in the room and admire the furnishings. It's clean, plenty roomy, and totally functional. The well-maintained rooms have seen upgrades or improvements many times, and they are not far off the quality of other rooms that we booked at other BVI resorts on previous trips. Not every room is air conditioned, so make sure you are booking the room that you want. We prefer the A/C during the summer months to lower the humidity in the room, but the constant ocean breezes may be all you need, especially in the winter. BEYC has made some improvements over the years; they now have digital safes in the rooms so we didn't have to use the safe deposit boxes at the registration desk, and they added a seaplane dock that is mostly used in the winter. You get hardwood floors at BEYC, no Italian marble, no crystal chandeliers. Our previous four experiences at BEYC were also excellent, so BEYC has a pretty good track record from our viewpoint.

"Brief stay"
We chose the hotel based on proximity to the Beef Island airport - to facilitate our departure at the end of our two week vacation - but also because we hoped it would be a nice wrap up to our vacation. It did not disappoint us. It almost rates a 5, but there were some minor defects that, for the price, requires me to indicate an overall 4. Defects were a leaking room refrigerator, which we reported. (Unfortunately, I had set my travel bag on the floor nearby and later discovered the issue after my bag was soaked.) We noticed the lamp shades had water stains and there was minor rust around the tub drain. Other aspects of the resort and room were top notch. We only had one full day to explore the resort and island. Surprisingly we discovered some interesting snorkeling on the main beach- a rather large octopus! Ice was only through the front desk. We can only assume they restrict it due to marina guests, but that is our speculation. Overall food was good to excellent. We overheard some people complaining about service but our experience was just fine. The discounted cost we paid was still more than we usually budget but seemed worth it based on the full range of hotel options near the airport. I don't think we'd spend a full week here but would definitely include it in an itinerary as a first or last stop when going through EIS.

"Great hotel in private location"
Staff was very friendly and welcoming, beautiful swimming pool, and pleasant (and clean) room. While the restaurant is still under construction, the snack bar serves an excellent fish wrap and other treats.

"Another nice week on Tortola"
This was my second stay at Maria's. I was given a bigger room this time, very clean, with a balcony and sea view. The air conditioning worked fine. The TV remote must have had dead batteries but I didn't watch much TV anyway. The only issue was the water temperature in the shower. The temperature would start hot and then go cold and then get way-too-hot and then cool down again - all without me adjusting the knob. The staff at the front desk were friendly and helpful as always, and the timeliness of the service in the dining area was much improved.
