"How bad could it be?" I thought to myself. It's only for a week, and I'll only be sleeping there. I can handle it! I went in with low expectations and they still managed to fall below them. I had put in my "request" box that I heard they had an issue with room smells, so please make sure the room is clean and doesn't smell bad. What I got was the worst smelling room in the entire place, or at least the entire first floor. When I say the room smelled bad, I mean BAD. If you ever walked around Seoul or even other parts of Asia, particularly Southeast Asia, you've come across areas that smell like a mixture of garbage and sewage. Dirty sewage smell. That's the exact smell that was emitting from the bathroom. The smell was SO strong that even with the bathroom door shut and the fan on for hours, the smell would get past the door and into the room. It was unbearable! I seriously considered switching hotels, even it meant biting the bullet on this non-refundable hotel, as there's nothing in the clause that grants you a refund for a bad smelling hotel room. But at least after asking about the smell, they changed my room to the room nextdoor, which was mildly better. I had to buy my own air freshner to make it liveable. The place was also dirty, and covered in cobwebs.
