There was also another guest in the same situation as me. Feeling betrayed I showed them proof of paid booking receipt. They kept denying then then blamed expedia but the other guest booked through korean booking app and he has the same problem. After 30 mins of heated conversation (standing as no room for waiting at reception) and demanding my money back, they gave me a room. Room was the worst stay. Everything was sticky, smells of cigarette, heater was not functioning, dusty shelves/desks. Stayed here for four nights. The price was good and located almost equidistant between Apgujeong and Sinsa subway stations. However our room smelled kind of reminiscent of smoke, and at night I could definitely tell other guests were smoking in their rooms—the hallway reeked of smoke. One day when we came back, I thought someone may have been smoking in our bathroom, but it could've been the vent. The bedding looked a little old and had some stains on it, and the room was a little dusty. We asked the front desk for another large-size bath towel and they wouldn't provide one, but there were plenty of smaller-sized towels in the room.
