It was extremely affordable and competitive with prices. The fact that it is located about a 7 to 10 minute walk from the Sendai station, depending on your physical fitness level was amazing! It's also located on the main strip which is covered, so no worries dealing with rain or harsh sunlight while walking to the hotel, except for when crossing the street. A little older, but nothing to worry about. VERY CENTRAL--couldn't ask for a better location. Minutes from Sendai station in the centre of maybe the biggest shotengai I've ever seen. Dozens of restaurants & cafes right at the doorstep. Reception is on the second floor--no lift so you have to carry your bags up about a dozen stairs--be aware if you have heavy bags! Good Japanese breakfast with some western options. Friendly, helpful staff. We booked 4 rooms for 8 people but the manager said they only had 2 rooms for us. How could we stay in 2 rooms with 8 pp?? We went up to see the rooms and found that they were unacceptable. We 've booked non smoking rooms but the rooms they gave us were full of unpleasant odour of cigarette smoke. The rooms were damp and smelly too. We couldn't breath in those rooms so we rejected to check in. The manager told us that if we didn't check in we would be charged in full for 2 rooms and he was running back and forth ( We really didn't know what he was doing bcos he barely speak English ). We have spent almost 2 hours talking to him and at the end he agreed to give us 2 rooms at different hotel which was 500 metres away!! We are one family . How could he seperate us???
