Superior service from reception desk and waiters/waitresses. Reception desk will call you at night if northern lights are visible. And the northern lights bar is a lovely, open place to sit, day or night. Dinners were consistently excellent in the beautiful glass-enclosed restaurant, although only the fish changes each day. But we had the fish each night and each time it was superbly prepared. Seafood chowder and gull cheese are stand-out appetizers. Terrific thermal pool.

The room was clean and a nice size. I think we stayed in the superior deluxe. The bathroom floor was heated, which was nice. Shower water pressure wasn’t that great. Property was in the remote location and deal for seeing northern lights, although it was too cloudy during my stay. The pool and spa area were very nice. The restaurant was nice and the food was good.

Beautiful property in an epic location. Staff was very friendly and helpful, spa was simple but beuatiful (love the geothermal fed outdoor hot pool), restaurant was delicious with great views of the plain below, and we were able to go on a big gorgeous hike out our back window. Felt like a special place to spend our first night in Iceland.

Room was great, as was the spring fed pool. I’m site restaurant was very good as well. Fitness equipment is well below average for a hotel of this quality. There was a large event that woke us up several times in the middle of the night as well.

We got an upgrade to a junior suite which was lovely. The staff were all friendly and really helpful, the bar was a great place to relax, food was exceptional and the dinning room lovely with big windows looking out over the valley. Lots of walks possible from the hotel, would definately go back.

The room was very spacious and well designed and equipped. The check in staff was nice and welcoming and the spa was a great treat. The restaurant was good although they had age limit to order a burger, also offered in room service, and they refused to serve it to us at the restaurant.

Friendly staff at check-in, great restaurant, clean rooms, beautiful scenery. Be aware there is a geothermal factory very close to the hotel and the pool is not as glamorous and large as it looks. There is nothing in the area but the hotel’s restaurant is very good, makes up for lack of dining options in the area. There is a hiking trail right behind the hotel.
