The room was clean with everything you needed, a well stocked tea and coffee tray with biscuits and two bottles of water. There was also toiletries in the bathroom although we used our own. The bar itself was great, lovely choice of drinks and food. Great band were playing on the Saturday night, great friendly atmosphere. The breakfast in the morning was first class, lots of choice and well cooked. We wouldnt hesitate to stay here again, thanks to all the staff for their hospitality. It wasn’t the Ritz but for what we paid we weren’t expecting the Ritz! What we got was a nice clean room with what looked like a recently renovated bathroom. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast, which we pre-ordered was freshly cooked and plentiful. The Open Air Theatre was a 15-20 minute walk away. The Albert was brilliant… spacious rooms, with all amenities. Friendly welcome but not overpowering. I was expecting the pub noise to die down after it closed, but it didn't. Not sure if it was the room next door, or a late taste going on downstairs, but we were kept awake until 2.30ish. Room is small as well as shower box. No modern or luxurious feel and breakfast time is only 1/2 hour. Room was spot on. When the gentleman showed me the room. He noticed a mark on the duvet. (It was nothing really). It looked like they’d maybe rested the vacuum on the bed & it had left a bit of dirt. The gentleman changed the duvet cover there & then. I ordered my breakfast & unfortunately I slept in. When I left I apologised & they couldn’t have been nicer about it.
