"Simply put, Union Øye is the finest hotel myself and my fiancé have ever stayed at. The mountains, fjords, and broader landscape surrounding the hotel is singular in its majesty and beauty, and provides unequalled opportunities for exploration and adventure. For us, this included kayaking along Norangsfjorden and Hjørundfjorden, cold plunging in the fjord followed by a session in the glass-walled sauna on the dock overlooking the fjord, running / hiking in the mountains, and more. The hotel building was authentically historic and stunningly beautiful, with its historicity wonderfully captured in the decor, paintings and pictures, individually designed rooms, and the 10pm storytelling each night by a member of the staff telling the story of the hotel since its founding in 1891. The food was exquisite and over the course of four days we truly looked forward to each meal. In the interim between meals, we would talk often about how good the last one was. Above all else, the staff are utterly exceptional. We have never experienced better. Each member of staff was unbelievably warm, kind, friendly and helpful. It truly felt like you were being welcomed as a guest into a family's home, rather than just a hotel. The level of effort each member of the staff put in to proactively making our stay as exceptional and as special an experience as possible was truly something to behold. It was a true joy to spend time arou them. We were engaged here and plan to come back many times."

"We were lucky to have perfect weather at the end of September. No rain and all the views/hikes were amazing. It’s a place for people that likes the outdoors and calm of a remote place. "

"The front desk personnel was friendly and helpful. The room was nice. The bed was comfortable. There was a small refrigerator. The bathroom and shower were totally tiled, which was nice. The shower had a curtain instead of the typical glass doors which we liked better. It was great that both breakfast and dinner were offered. Breakfast was good both days with good options and variety. Dinner one night was thin soup and bread which was not satisfying. The hotel was across the street from a grocery store which was nice."

"Lots of space for 2 couples to spread out and enjoy the spectacular view. Remote and quiet location. House has two levels and a nice balcony off the 2nd floor. Hot tub and sauna were wonderful!"

"The house is spacious and very comfortable with three bedrooms. It is located up the hill just below the forest and fully equipped. It provides opportunity to sit outside, under the roof, and grill or enjoy the fresh air. There is a beautiful view from the kitchen and living room. Good location for fishing and holiday stay. We have stayed over there for almost two weeks and really enjoyed despite sometimes having bad weather. The owner is helpful and supportive. It is also easy to use the ferry to Saebo or next big town Orsta."

"Interesting lodging. It's an apartment building that seems to have longer term tenants, it's not really a hotel as there's no staff on site. We were able to reach a very helpful and friendly staff person via phone, however. Shared bathrooms, kitchen and living area. Clean. Good grocery market 2 kins down the hill. Overall, good value."
