Thank you Chris for allowing us to stay at your long time family house. Fascinating pieces and history of the house. Plenty of room and supplies for the 8 of us. Of course we gathered every night after dinner in the family room with a roaring fire playing games and watching movies. Great country store and BBQ restaurant within walkable distance. Friendly neighbors and an authentic northern New England experience. Look forward to coming back
A perfect solution for out of state gathering of extended family for Christmas. Dining room table seated 12 for Xmas Eve feast. Kitchen facility handled all our needs. Seasoned firewood supplied made for cozy Xmas eve & morning gift exchange in spacious family room. Immediate response from owner regarding a couple of minor questions we had. Hope to return sometime soon.
Great place to stay with the family. All the cousins enjoyed time together. Home to Vermont for Alumni Weekend and Celebration of Life for The Patriarch of our family

Perfect spot for family gathering
Thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Four couples and there was PLENTY of room for more! Loved the location - cute village and little shop for milk/bread/etc. It felt like home! Stayed up late playing cards and dominoes, got up and cooked breakfast for everyone. Room for everyone to move and relax - will gladly return if the occasion to go up that way again presents itself!
We had plenty of space in this lovely house! We were visiting the area to visit our family friends for the new year. Their teens and ours loved the room with the fireplace, they could hang and be silly and loud while we put our 5 and 7 year old to bed.I didn’t hear them at all!! Beds were comfortable; we all slept great. Great option to have a bedroom on the downstairs level with full bath as we were traveling with my MiL who has a hard time with stairs. The shop down the street (walkable) was wonderful and well stocked. Chris was quick to respond to questions. Would definitely stay here again!
Me and some of the men from Church have an annual weekend getaway and this place was an excellent choice for this year's time. There are large rooms where everyone can gather in one place and there are plenty of tuckaway spots if folks want to talk in a quiet spot.
Chris is excellent with pretty much immediate communication.
The house is in a quiet part of a quiet town. But it's surrounded by a number of destination places, which Chris lists out in his documentation.
If I had anything I would add to the description of the place, it would be to add pictures of each of the rooms.
Also add that there is one large room that only had a space heater for heat. Not a huge deal if the door is left open so heat from the rest of the house and funnel in.
We would definitely use this house again.
Had a group of ten stay here for an Okemo ski weekend. Everything was as advertised, and the host made every arrangement for our arrival. No complaints!
This is the house I grew up in along with my 5 siblings and our parents. All six of us stayed at the house and Mom visited for the day. (Dad has passed). It was a surreal experience. Lots of “do you remember....?” We had beautiful weather and walked around town (a rather large, noticeable group). Ran into people we knew from “the old days”, took lots of photos and reminisced. The house was basically as we remembered it. Mom did most of the renovations and upkeep from 1969-1994. It was nice to see her handiwork still there.
We had a wonderful visit. Thank you Chris and Kristine for sharing “our home” with us.

Enjoyed our stay
Our group of 9 adults/4 kids enjoyed our stay here. The house was fully stocked with everything we needed for the week (sans food, of course). There wasn't much to do in town, so most days had us driving elsewhere for hiking, eating, etc. But the boulder scrambles/climbs on the river were fun and walking distance from the house. We appreciated the size of the house and the fact that we could send the kids into the family room to hang out and play when adults wanted to chill out on the other side of the house. There was also a nice side lawn to set up corn hole boards and a badminton court. A fire pit and some additional outdoor seating would have been nice. I didn't go into the market in town, but everyone else said it was nice. It was easy to communicate with Chris and overall, we'd recommend this property to other groups.
This house easily accommodated three families of four. We had plenty of space, and the common rooms were perfect for socializing.
The house is well stocked with the basics - sheets, blankets, cleaning supplies, etc. - so there's no need to worry if the house will be ready.
Great location and a nice, quiet street.
We really enjoyed our time here!

Great Winter Stay
My family just stayed in this home for New Years' weekend. 10 adults and a 1 year old and we all had a wonderful time. The house is cozy and there is plenty of room for a large group. It is in a picturesque town not too far from a variety of ski slopes. My family skied Stratton Mountain and drove back to Saxton's River to warm up by the fire! The place was clean and had everything you could need stocked up. The owners were very responsive - overall just a great experience!

Cozy New England home!
I had the pleasure of staying here with a group of friends during the summer once. The home is cozy and spacious. We had plenty of room for all. A lovely country home in a quaint part of Vermont. Close to mountain trails, refreshing lake with waterfall and cute local restaurants. Would recommend to anyone in search of a real New England getaway.

Cozy, spacious, great community!
This is a great place for anyone who wants a cozy, comfortable small town Vermont experience. Beautiful property with lots of great indoor and outdoor space. Great getaway for families!
And Saxtons River is a truly enchanting little VT village - and you're at the center of it all. Can't say enough about the hosts. Great job keeping the property up and doing all the things they need to do to make your stay easy and convenient.
Suggest grilling out in the front yard in the evening! YOLO!

Perfect for a long weekend getaway!
Only a few hours from NYC, the location and vibes of this house made a bunch of friends and I feel like we were having a true relaxing getaway from the hustle and bustle of the city without getting on an airplane. We came for the 4th of July holiday, which is a great mix of relaxation and events (think parade, BBQ, and a 5k run!). So much is in walking distance, you've got the cute town, the falls, and lots of great hikes just a stone's throw away. Plus... the Vermont Country Store! Best place ever! I think it was only about 15 minutes away. Great for gifts, toys, and Vermont-themed treats. The rooms are quaint, comfortable, and have that lovely New England feel. The owner is warm and helpful for anything you need as this was a family home for him so he's very familiar with the area. If you're looking to get a group of family or friends together in Southern Vermont (just over the border from Massachusetts and New Hampshire), this is your spot!

Coziest Winter getaway
A couple of friends stayed at this home away from home. The place is so wonderful for cozy card games, stories around the fire and movies with friends. The dinning space was spacious and the kitchen is easy to clean up with the dishwasher. The mud room is perfect, along with the washer dyer, for all the skiing/ boarding we all were able to do.
Breakfast at the market down the street before the slopes was fast- and delicious. We are planning to go back ever winter. The only thing i would recommend is perhaps a Hot Tub.
