With 2 bedrooms featuring 1 king, and 1 queen bed, this immaculate townhome will carry you to Savannah’s Colonial past. Boasting incredible stone fireplaces, William and Mary style furniture, and a beautiful, shared garden patio, your stay will be marked with high-class features that are truly authentic in Savannah. SVR-02574 The Space: Original in 1868, the Liberty House was the second home on East Liberty Street built for John Hernandez. Listed in Savannah’s city directories as a confectioner from St. Augustine, Florida, Mr. Hernandez is believed to have raised his family of four children in the home before selling the property in retirement. Since its construction, this authentic Savannah townhome has been meticulously cared for boasting original stone fireplaces, stair banisters, hard oak flooring, and incredible custom trim work. Enter the property one of two ways, either from the ascending staircase on Liberty Street or through the private off-street parking at the rear of the property. As you enter the townhome you will be immediately awestruck by the preserved colonial past that is captured throughout the home. In the front of the home, you will find the formal living room with floor-to-ceiling windows, an original fireplace, high ceilings, and William and Mary furniture. Directly off this space is the formal dining room with a large hardwood dining table set for 6, a colonial-inspired chandelier, and stunning built-in bookshelves. Along the main hallway connecting the townhome from front to back find the main floor powder room along with beautiful artwork. Follow the hallway to the rear of the property where a modernized gourmet galley kitchen awaits you. This fully appointed kitchen boasts high-end appliances, stone countertops, custom cabinetry, and a butler’s nook. Find everything you need to cook delicious meals including cooking utensils, pots, pans, and dishware. A microwave and a coffee maker are provided. Directly off the kitchen is the den presenting a comfortable sofa, chairs, and smart TV perfect for all your streaming needs. Step out on the back terrace and follow the staircase down to the shared garden patio. The ample room allows you to spread out and enjoy beautiful Savannah mornings and evenings under the shade of live oak trees, cathedral spires, and high privacy walls. On the third level of the building find the two private bedrooms. This property was perfectly located to everything. Once we parked the car, we didn’t have to use it again in the weekend because everything’s within walking distance. It was walking distance to both Broughton Street and Forsyth Park, or take advantage of the free DOT bus to get you where you want to go. Lots of cafes and restaurants right in the neighborhood as well. The hosts were very friendly and super responsive. We loved our stay and wouldn't hesitate to book here again. ##### George G. The house was built in the 1800s and the furniture fits the style but with all the modern kitchen appliances and finishing. Located right in downtown it is really easy to walk to all of the sights, restaurants, cafes and more. The place is nice and clean perfect for family and friends. Brandon and Chase were great hosts and very quick in all communications. The convenient free parking and rest entrance into the garden was a real bonus as parking in Savannah can be a nightmare at times. ##### Niphaphan W. Came up from Florida for a friends wedding and I stumbled upon this place while trying to find something close to the venue. The location was close to everything that we needed. Chase is a wonderful host and answered my questions and requests quickly no matter what time it was. The house has so much charm and everything you could possibly need. We are already planning our next trip and hopefully we can book this one again. If you find this one available for your travel dates, just jump on it. You will not be disappointed!! ##### Jim B. If you love walking the streets of Savannah but like to stay away from the noise and crowds, this is the place. We stayed three nights on our way to Hilton Head. Savannah never disappoints. The home had everything you need for your stay. The kitchen and rear patio were our favorites. Some pieces of furniture need attention. I wish I read the information regarding the bedroom with the attached bath. The King Bedroom bath is actually down the hall. It ended up not being a huge issue. Dec 17, 2023 Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, communication, location, listing accuracy #### Beautiful Home in the Heart of Historic District Stayed here for a mother-daughter trip and the house was beautiful and very clean. The beds are memory foam (I believe) and exceptionally comfortable. Plenty of pillows and spare blankets if needed. The central heating worked well, but the floors stay chilly in December so bring slippers! Lots of beautiful antiques, fragile books, and older artwork, so I personally wouldn't recommend bringing young children here. The house is in a great location for walking to several restaurants and historic sites, but Liberty Street can be noisy at times. Being an older home, its not very well insulated from outside noise. It did quiet down significantly around 9 pm, but you could hear the occasional group being loud as they walked by. If you're used to city noise then this property will seem peaceful. The immediate area surrounding this home is much quieter than those closer to the riverfront. Having a driveway was an added bonus, but the approach is a little steep for low cars. We had to baby step one tire at a time to avoid scraping our front end. Still beats looking for parking! Overall, we had a wonderful time staying here and would happily return! Its exactly as pictured and even more charming in person. The positives far outweigh any "negatives" of staying here. Its perfect for those wanting an affordable stay in an historic home.
