All of our homes are professionally cleaned after each stay, and disinfected using a quaternary disinfectant throughout the entire property prior to each new arrival. The Space One of our most charming vacation homes in Savannah is the Waldburg Cottage property. This historic Victorian cottage is located in Savannah's Historic District off of Waldburg and Jefferson. Just three blocks from beautiful Forsyth Park, it is walkable to both the historic downtown and the Starland District. The cottage dates back to 1900 and has all the old world charm that comes with its age, along with thoughtful updates. The outdoor space is a standout feature. When you enter through the white picket fence, you'll find a traditional front porch with rocking chairs. The backyard has a beautiful porch for relaxing, a lush garden, and a grill for warm weather barbeques. There are also two dedicated parking spaces in the rear. Inside, the cottage accommodates up to four people with two bedrooms and one newly-renovated bathroom. Enjoy a fully equipped kitchen, a new queen mattress in the master bedroom, and a twin bunk bed in the second bedroom. The living room has plenty of comfortable seating and a flat-screen TV. Each room has high ceilings with fans in both bedrooms and original hardwood pine floors throughout the cottage. It's a lovely space for a solo traveler, a couple, or a family with kids. Amenities: High speed WIFI Smart TV (Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, etc.) for you to sign in with your personal account. While the cottage is very quiet, white noise machines are placed in both bedrooms to reduce any sounds guests may not be accustomed to. Hair dryer, iron, ironing board, and a clothes steamer. Fully equipped kitchen. Outdoor gas grill with grilling utensils. Washer/Dryer. Location There are endless opportunities for sightseeing and other activities from the location of the cottage. Visit the historic downtown, the charming waterfront, the trendy Starland neighborhood and shops, or take a trip to Tybee Island. The cottage is just three blocks from famous Forsyth Park, which spans 26 acres and is always lively – From the famous cast-iron fountain, the Saturday Farmers Market, to festivals, to walking the picturesque tree-lined sidewalks, having a picnic, and enjoying brunch at Collins Quarter, we feel the cottage is situated in the ideal area for exploration and adventure. We are a 15 to 20 minute walk from the historic downtown area boasting City Market, Broughton Street, River Street, and all 22 of Savannah's charming historic squares. Chatham Square is the closest, and is a 5 minute walk from the cottage. South of the cottage is the trendy Starland District, with artist shops and restaurants, a 10-15 minute walk. For groceries, Kroger is 0.5 miles away. There is also an independent natural food store called 'Brighter Day' at the south end of Forsyth Park, along with a coffee shop, wine shop, and a beautiful rooftop bar called 'Perch'. The cottage is 25 minutes to the Savannah Airport If you have a car, you can spend a day exploring Tybee Island, a 20 minute car-ride away. You can enjoy the Southern Belle heated pool, eat at the locally famous Tybee Island Crab Shack, take a marsh trek, or book a charter boat to explore the waters around the island. . Getting Around We highly recommend walking around town to fully appreciate the charming city. We are just steps from the nearest free DOT Trolley stop (www.connectonthedot.com), which runs every 10-15 minutes from the southwest corner of the park and runs through the Starland District, historic downtown, and River Street. Here's the DOT Trolley schedule: Monday-Friday: 7am-7pm Saturday: 10am - 7pm Sunday: 10am - 6pm Other modes of transportation are rideshare apps like Uber and Lyft or pedicabs. You can also take a guided tour of the city in several different ways. Among the most popular are horse-drawn carriages, trolleys, pub crawls, and ghost tours. Unless you want to leave the historic downtown area, you probably won't need a car since you can walk to most places from the cottage. Guest Access Check-in with code access provided prior to arrival. There is typically ample street parking, (make sure to read the signs for street sweeping times), and two private parking spots located behind the cottage, accessed from the lane. Other Things To Note Please understand that we typically have to stick to a strict checkin and checkout time so we can thoroughly prepare the cottage for our next guests. Unfortunately, we do not allow any pets on the cottage property. Please no other guests outside of guests booked. As noted in the description, this house was originally built in 1900, when homes were built smaller, and has all the old world charm and character from that era. Please note that the pocket doors in the kitchen do not fully close, however it is a historic detail we like to keep. Guests with Pets If you would like to bring along your dog(s) during your stay, we do have some pet-friendly properties allowing up to 2 dogs and the total weight cannot exceed 50lbs for a pet fee of $130\. We didn't cook while we were there but saw all the equipment you would need. Bed is super comfortable. Lots of towels provided. I’m tall and the furniture is fairly petite. The 2nd bedroom is also set up for kids, not necessarily adults. Overall, the property and location were wonderful. The home is slightly worse for wear and could use some improvements (broken furniture in the kitchen, cosmetic damage like separating caulk, pretty minor stuff). I stayed in the bunk room and noticed quite a bit of dust on the baseboards and some questionable gunk on the walls of my room and the bathroom. The front porch was extremely dusty/dirty and could use a good cleaning (don't sit on the rocking chairs in white pants). Aside from these minor issues with the home, the location is PERFECT and we were able to walk everywhere. Would have liked better pillows and a tv that worked. I was told the tv was just streaming and we could get into Tubi or Pluto. Unfortunately we could not get into either. Our 2nd Stay! We love this little house! Perfect location for us to walk to Forsyth Park. It’s definitely driving distance to the river if you’re not able to walk forever, but the park is walkable. My son absolutely loved the bunk beds. The only minor negative that I have is that I found the master bed to be a little uncomfortable. I would wake up every morning with a sore back. I’m not docking my rating for that though, because it’s a great stay otherwise. I appreciate the washer and dryer, as well. We will definitely be back! ##### Garrett and Paige O. The inside of the property was very clean, but the outside was in needed of some love. The back yard's grass was a mess, the chaise lounge chairs were filthy and both the front and back porches were dirty. Inside I realize that they were trying to go with period furnishings, but the kitchen table was so small that only 2 people could fit; however, we ended up with only 1 chair because the second chair was broken. The living room furniture was small and uncomfortable, and the WIFI did not work our entire stay. The neighborhood was nice and quiet and was a short 2 block walk to Forsyth Park. The private parking spot in back alley was convenient too. All-in-all, we did enjoy the Cottage, but some updates need to be made. ##### Gail A. Wonderful Waldburg Cottage will not disappoint, JUST BOOK IT! We absolutely enjoyed our stay at this beautiful little cottage. We loved that it was centrally located, just two blocks away from Forsyth Park. We could walk just about anywhere within 5-15 minutes- all the amazing coffee shops, restaurants, boutiques, parks and close to DOT when your day legs are done with walking. I also recommend the "Downtowner" app works like Uber but FREE (tips are accepted) in the Historic District of Savannah only from 5pm to 5am 7 days a week. Wonderful drivers, new electric vehicles and all provided by the the City of Savannah. The house was on a quiet street and we liked that we had our own private parking behind the house, not to mention the lovely back yard and the covered porch which we enjoyed every evening. It was a perfect get away for our girls trip. Nicely decorated, very clean, comfy beds, and everything we needed. Just big enough for two people to fit comfortably. The outside makes the property worthwhile more than anything though. The adorable front porch with rocking chairs and even more so the large private yard and deck out back were used daily to relax in the nice weather. Be cautious of the floor vent in the hall. My husband and I both tripped on it and I was the lucky one to actually cut my foot open our last night here. The property mangement company is responsive and extremely helpful too though.
