Ocean views from every room!!

  • Very private coastal home nestled at treetop level yet with dramatic ocean views from every room. House was built and finished October 2010. Light filled house with sky lights, soaring ceilings, floor to ceiling windows with unobstructed views of the Pacific Ocean, Headland Mountains, crashing waves and San Francisco beyond. Huge wrap around deck, private deck off master bedroom with Adirondacks and lounge chair for sunning, relaxing, watching the waves or nighttime stargazing. Hawks and falcons fly overhead as whales and dolphins pass by at various times of the year.

    After a day of hiking the endless coastal and mountain trails, watch the moon rise from your living room window seats, enjoy a BBQ on your deck, take a deep bathtub soak to relax, and finally get lulled to sleep at night by the sounds of the crashing Pacific waves and the far off fog horn which escorts boats through the Golden Gate Bridge!

We had an excellent time staying at Muir Beach. Used the cottage as home base while visiting with our son in San Francisco. Easy drive to/from the city. Walked the beach nearly every day and even had a campfire on the beach one evening. The Pelican Inn has great food and we enjoyed hiking Mt. Tam. Yes, the outdoor shower is a must. Recommend!

Beautiful house with stunning views, well stocked, spotlessly clean on arrival, bedrooms downstairs, loved feeding the scrub jays and had the deers in the garden. The drive to the property is about 20 minutes on a winding mountain road and the walk to the beach is via lots of stairs. The seating in the lounge is not that comfortables and no sunset but overall this property is outstanding

Beautiful Home and Area

This home is exactly as advertised. The view is gorgeous, the house was super clean, and the area is terrific for hiking and enjoying the great outdoors. The kitchen is well equipped, and there are lots of thoughtful touches throughout that make you feel right at home. Bev could not have been a more accommodating host. We hope to return to this beautiful spot.

We loved staying at this special spot in Muir Beach. Beverly made everything easy. Quiet location with spectacular views. Very clean and comfortable. Tastefully decorated. Well-appointed kitchen. Stayed 3 nights at this property and it’s exactly as the photos offer. The picture windows throughout the house offer fantastic views of the ocean and beach. On clear days you can even get a glimpse of San Francisco. Excellent experience!

A Hidden Jewel!

My wife and I have been blessed to stay at many nice VRBO's over the years. As we love variety, these have been scattered all over North America. Bev's place, however, is the first that we loved well enough to book our next stay before even leaving ... it' really that amazing! The great layout, terrific views, and proximity to hiking as well as the Bay Area can't be beat!

The house is so tranquil and peaceful, you will never want to leave. The entire area far surpassed our expectations never having been to the coast. What a perfect place

cozy home with beautiful views of Muir beach and SFO

We stayed here a week.I was wishing we had stayed two. The views were incredible and it has a nice kitchen to work in.They could update the dishes, but not really a huge deal. Because the drive up Hwy 1 is on windy and steep roads you may not want to go into town much. The bedrooms are down many steps,so you must be able bodied. Numerous hiking opportunities close by.

Amazing views and nice place

Only negative I can say comes with a huge positive. Long windy road to get to the house - which also makes its remote location perfect. So if you are up for a beautiful drive and a beautiful reward at the end of it this is a great place to spend time! Didn’t want to go home or leave this place. Skipped driving to wine country for the day to sit and listen to college football on The tv and soak in the sounds and view!

The most beautiful place you will ever visit

Our stay at Beverly’s house was simply magical. Photos do not fully capture the magnificent views from the house. We spent 3 nights at Bev’s house and wished for more. Muir Woods was so easy to access from the house - barely 10 minutes away. We spent a wonderful day there including an epic hike in Mt. Tamalpais State Park. The next day we went on another fantastic hike - this time along the Muir Beach Coastal Trail, which was breathtaking. Everything about Bev’s home was perfect for us - super comfortable, convenient, bright and tasteful. We thoroughly enjoyed cooking - the kitchen is great - and after hiking all we wanted to do was drink wine on the balcony. I really hope we can come back someday.

AMAZING PROPERTY

Bev's property is so spectacular I really do not want to tell anyone about it! We stayed at this property for the first time when our children were in grade school. We have so many great family memories here. We just want to keep coming back. You cannot beat the view or the privacy. Unfortunately you cannot control the fog but it really does not matter. We also enjoyed feeding the scrub jays that visit the property. This is one of my all time favorite properties to visit. If you try it, it will become one of your favorites as well. Mark and Eva

Spectacular!

The energy in this home is so serene and relaxing. Everywhere you turn is a view. Beverly & Scout have made the house so welcoming & friendly with lots of little handwritten notes that make you feel like you’re staying at the home of a friend. We had our adventures (Muir Woods, Napa, Sonoma), but the highlight was just sitting. Making friends with the scrub jays. Watching the hummingbirds. Marveling at the pelicans and the red tail that seemed to just sit motionless in the air. Surprised to see a gorgeous gray fox carrying dinner home. I can only hope we have the opportunity to return to this incredibly special place. We cannot thank Beverly enough for making it available 😊🙏☀️

Beautiful home

This home is absolutely beautiful and the view is breathtaking. The only thing we did not like was that there are no curtains/blinds anywhere. Not in the bedroom, living room, bathroom…nowhere! We felt like we had no privacy. During the day, it’s no big deal but at night it was (in my opinion) very creepy. It made us very uncomfortable knowing that anyone could possibly be looking in at you while you sleep, when you step out the shower…etc. We rented the house for two nights but after the first night we checked out early because we were so uncomfortable with the no curtains/blinds situation. If this is ok with you, you will absolutely love this home.

California dreaming!

Stunning! This was my wife's first trip to California and seeing the Pacific Ocean. Hence, this was the perfect place to make that lifetime impression. It was simply spectacular! The pictures online were helpful, but being there in real life was amazing! The views were fantastic, the wildlife was exciting to see and interact with, and the proximity to various things we wanted to see and do was wonderful. It was so cool to see the moon rise over Muir Beach as we sat in bed. And then to have the beautiful sun rises too! I genuinely feel I couldn't have picked a better place. It was so relaxing we were hesitant to leave and do other things. We could have simply sat on the deck chairs and watched the days go by. As someone who cleans homes for a living, I'm probably one of the worse people to have as a guest. Having said that, the property was spotless! Things were so well taken care of and clean. I was very impressed! An added benefit of our stay was being able to use the laundry. After five days of hiking in Sequoia, Kings Canyon, and Yosemite National Parks, a washer and dryer were a welcome relief! If you do choose to stay here, do venture out and visit the Muir Beach Overlook that's up over the hill behind the property; spectacular views! Good place to watch the sun set too! Muir Woods is nearby, within 3 miles - take the back road to get there. And the Pelican Inn has good food and a wonderful old English pub vibe to it. Our visit was worth every penny spent!
