We do our best to make it easy for all our guests. Los Almendros is an upscale, beachfront development on Playa Ocotal's northern shore. This modern gated community has 43 privately owned condominiums and 24 hour security. It is the only development right on Ocotal beach. The development has 3 swimming pools, 2 outdoor barbecues and a covered gazebo. Condo 42 is the end unit on Los Almendros' premium front row. The condo's rear patio is located directly above a small tropical forest. The patio has a beautiful ocean view. It also provides nature lovers an excellent vantage point to observe many colourful birds, howler monkeys, and other amazing wildlife living in the trees below. It is a short 2 minute walk down the hill from the condo to Ocotal Beach. Our condo is rated as one of Los Almendros' superior rental units. This condo is Los Almendros' most popular and best equipped two bedroom unit. We offer many extras to our guests that enable them to have a more memorable and relaxing vacation: 1) Beautiful ocean view 2) Very quiet and private. No condos above or below. In the evening guests can relax and listen to the ocean surf without being bothered by insects attracted by the overhead light. The ability to use the patio day or night greatly increases the condo's living space. Outstanding swimming and snorkeling: Playa Ocotal is one of Guanacaste's quietest and cleanest "Blue Flag Beaches". The ocean surf is very gentle. Travel guides recommend Playa Ocotal to outdoor enthusiasts who want to snorkel from a Guanacaste beach. Snorkelers drive many miles to explore the rock formations at both ends of Playa Ocotal Beach. Playa Ocotal's best snorkeling is directly below Los Almendros. On most days, you can see numerous species of colorful tropical fish including angel fish, game fish, eels, octopi, puffer fish, rays and many more, in Playa Ocotal's tranquil waters. Playas del Coco is Guanacaste's fastest growing beach community. The town is a 5 minute drive from Los Almendros. A taxi is fairly inexpensive to town. Coco has modern grocery stores, pharmacies, banks, ATM machines, many restaurants, ice cream shops, many bars/pubs, souvenir shops, and an emergency medical facility. You’ll even find small grocery stores and family restaurants on the way to Coco from condo. Excursion planning: Playa Ocotal is a great location from which to initiate day trips. I can provide you with trusted tour operators so you can make reservations for fishing, diving, snorkeling, sailing, rafting, tubing, zip lining, massages, hiking, bird watching, hot springs, rain forest tours, volcanoes, canopy tours, and horse back riding. There is multiple dive companies located in Coco for any scuba enthusiasts. Father Rooster's restaurant is one of Ocotal's most popular restaurants and it is located about 100 meters from the entrance of Los Almendros. It is located right on the beach and is open for lunch and dinner. It is a great place to enjoy a delicious tropical drink, enjoy a meal and take in the fabulous sunset. Transportation: A car is nice to have but not a necessity in Costa Rica. Taxis from Los Almendros to Coco are fairly inexpensive Bilingual tour operators provide affordable transportation from Los Almendros to Guanacaste tourist attractions. Taxi service is available to and from Liberia airport. Golf carts are another great travel option. Bicycles: We provide our guests with two cruisers. We loved snorkeling a few feet away and we were grateful for the equipment that was at the condo. It is well furnished and has everything you need for a beach vacation. I was very surprised at the variety of snorkeling gear that was made available, plus copious amounts of other nice beach gear available to us. This spot is wonderfully quiet and peaceful, but very close to Coco when you want to go in for a little night life. There was plenty of cookware for us to enjoy the fresh fish and other meats available at the local markets, something this semi-foodie family loved. ##### Cory A. The beach was fabulous and it was just a short cab ride to town where there is an abundance of supermarkets and restaurants. The host was so attentive to everything from giving information about the place to info about the area. We would love to stay there for much more time. We loved the amenities and used them for snorkeling etc. The wildlife viewing from the windows was fantastic. The views will be in my memory forever. I can't say enough good about this stay. Mark’s suggestions and communication was fantastic. He connected us with a superb travel guide who showed us much of the area/ even a trip into Nicaragua. This is my first time to Costa Rica and I’ll definitely be returning. Loved the people, the culture, the food, the weather and exploring the various sitesYour condo was very comfortable and has everything one could possibly need. mark provided great information and quick response to any questions I had. It made getting established a lot easier.Your recommendations to use Memo to book any adventures was great advice, especially liked the river tour. Visited a number of beaches and Ocotal is still one of my favourites and probably the best so far for snorkelling. We were looking for a laid back relaxing time in the sun to rejuvenate after a hectic season. But even if you are looking to do all things beach in costa rica, these hosts are prepared for you! This was our first trip to Costa Rica. We toured different areas of Costa Rica for first few days of our arrival (La Fortuna and Bijagua). Our stay at Mark and Cheryl's property was perfect! The view, the beach, nearby amenities were perfect for the last 4 days of our one week stay. We can't wait to come back and stay longer next time! Definitely want to spend more time in this area. Coco was good to visit for some great Happy Hour specials and good food and entertainment. The pools and Father Roosters close by were a great option too. We loved sitting on the porch at night and listening to the waves. The beach is great for swimming and snorkeling. We had considered a place in Coco beach but we were very glad we came here instead - it’s much quieter, has a better swimming beach, and is better for families. The unit was clean, had all the beach accessories we needed, and Mark the owner was very responsive and gave us quick answers to all our questions. The staff at the complex are very friendly and security was always onsite and doing patrols. We highly recommend Marks place and would absolutely stay there again. ##### Steve W. This place fit the bill. It was a short, if a little steep, walk to the beach. A few times we were the only people on the beach. At its busiest it was never crowded. We hit the markets and took advantage of the well stocked kitchen. Father roosters was great for the occasional drink or dinner. The facilities pools were very nice. All the things you might want for the beach is provided. We had a great stay and highly recommend this if you are looking for a nice clean and quiet beach. ##### Cara L. Host goes above an beyond to make sure your vacation has EVERYTHING you need. Bikes, kayaks, snorkeling gear OH MY! You will also get an detailed itinerary of EVERYTHING you could possibly want to do in the area. Even if you want to do nothing, the secluded black sands beach is a 5 minute walk away.
