The property is very nice-we have stayed here now 4x. The rooms are clean with nice balconies. What is different this time, compared to 4 yrs ago-the water sytem is now "salty" from the tap as well as in the swimming pool. We did not like this, but overall, its a great little place with a nice "glass house" restaurant.

This is such a cute hotel! Very clean and the service was great. Ioanna was delightful and she was very helpful in arranging transportation for us. Quick to respond and get us help when we needed it. Would definitely stay here again!

The hotel was fantastic and affordable, while the staff were exceedingly helpful and friendly. It is quite a ways out of town so I'd recommend renting a car, but it's so worth it because the location is super quiet and has fantastic views of the entire Caldera. If I were returning to Santorini I would happily stay here again - it stood out as our best hotel across the fourteen nights we spent all over Greece to that point.

We love the property in General, it has a very good location!. The breakfast at the restaurant it was pretty good and convenient to have. The only think I didn't' like were the bathroom noise of the exhaust fan, which besides the noise it didn't to anything since it was a fan moving air around but it was not connected anywhere.

Truly special experience. The staff treated you like it was your home and the property was inclusive and fun and easy. Location was quiet and beautiful and the rooms were cozy and well thought out. The restaurant attached was phenomenal, convenient, affordable, and the staff treated you like you were the only people in the restaurant. Pool area is very fun and chic. All around incredible hotel. If you’re looking for a more relaxed and separate experience on santorini, this is the place to do it. Renting a car is extremely affordable and they will arrange everything for you so that you can drive around the island at your leisure. When I come back to santorini, it will be here.

Incredible location
We're very lucky to find such a good hotel for a price lower 100$ Per night for two with breakfast in a peak august season. Wonderful view and very good pool, all other prices also very reasonable. Rent a quad in Santorini, will make your moving very easy

Well presented hotel with few things to improve
Overall the hotel & restaurant look well on a contemporary style and is well mantained, the helpful and friendly staff makes a pleasant stay and the pool is a plus. The rooms are just a bit outdated specially the shower which was small on the standard room, and the water came out easily. It was good to have a mini fridge inside the room, though.

Beautiful views and a wonderful setting.
Lovely setting and very remote. Transport a must. Our disappointment was that the hotel was closing around us. We are the last guests so after three/four days they actually removed sun beds and drained the swimming pool. The restaurant which is attached to the hotel (with great reviews from previous guests) was not open during the day or evening there was no where to even get water as no bar or food facilities on site at all. Breakfast was very Greek but no variation through the whole stay and was only replenished periodically so often would be lacking in something. Only lukewarm water for tea and the coffee also lukewarm . Whilst the bad points were quite disappointing the hotel was set in a beautiful part of the island with outstanding views. We had our rooms upgraded and the hotel staff were very helpful for booking a car and transport back to the airport. They also allowed us to keep our rooms until we checked out at 3pm. Sadly it did not quite make up for water that turned off occasionally internet that went down and absolutely NO hotel facilities. I would happily return but it would be in season. If you are going to close down facilities in a hotel whilst you still have paying guests it should be made very clear in the Expedia hotel booking site as otherwise like myself others would feel misled.

I spent 5 nights in the hotel with the disappointing experiences. The hotel really far from beach, bus station and nowhere on the island. The towels were dirty, rough and they don't change every day. When I asked the beach towels they told me I need to pay for it. The shower tiny, narrow and old. Every morning I woke up for the rooster noise at 5:00AM. Spending my time this hotel just was a really disappointing experience.

Although this hotel is "away" from the major areas in Santorini, we loved the view and we were able to drive any where in the island without an issue.

Excellent family holiday, together with our 6 year old son, we spent a week in Santorini with our base at Caldera Romantica. It is a good honest 3-4 star hotel, friendly and excellent staff, clean rooms, very comfortable bed. Breakfast was included, and was a good buffet. The location is near Akrotiri on the south end of Santorini, offering beautiful views of the volcano, and Fira and Oia nestling at the edge of the caldera in the distance. It is very quiet, away from most of the tourists in Fira and Oia, which we liked very much. Fira is 10-15 minutes drive, our favourite beach at Perivolos is a similar distance.

Big disappointment
We were not happy with any part of this hotel. The rooms were not as nice as in the photographs. The people were not very nice and it is in the middle of no where. I hate to say bad things about someones business but I feel like after having such great hotel experiences I found this one hotel to be a big disappointment.

Amazing Staff and Lovely hotel
My stay in Santorini couldn't have been made better by Gordanna and her team! They we're happy to help at every point and always with a smile.. I highly recommend the Caladera Romantica to anyone looking to stay in Santorini.. The fact it was away from Thira was a massive bonus.

A good choice for a quieter part of the island.
Great location if you have a car and prefer a quieter part of Santorini, otherwise it can be difficult to get to. Shower was small and hard to use but the view and the service were first-rate. Breakfast was good, decent variety.

The hotel was Very Basic. There was NOTHING upscale or fancy about it. A Motel 6 has nicer rooms than the "Superior" rooms at this hotel. The location was far too removed from anything you wanted to access (the map location is wrong, it's about twice the distance from the port that the map shows). The isolation would be fine if there was Anything at the hotel to make you want to stay there to relax, but there wasn't. With all of this, I'd still give the hotel 3 stars of it wasn't for the unfriendly desk person who was rude and unapologetic about the fact that they put us in a room with 2 twin beds (that could not be pushed together) while on our honeymoon, dispite the fact that they acknowledged that we had indeed booked a room with a double bed. The entire time she spoke to me I felt like I was being scolded and there was never even a hint of appology. Aeolos tavern next door was the only good thing about this location. They were incredibly friendly and the food was great.

Superb boutique hotel outside of Fira
The rooms are beautiful and spacious. You have a balcony with a great view. The breakfast is lovely as well. The reception is great and gave lots of good suggestions and helped me arrange a quad ATV to drive around the island. It is great for the price. You do need to rent a quad bike or have a rental car to stay here. It's not in the centre of things and taxis sometimes take 30 minutes to come to the hotel.

Great staff , the hotel is newly renovated . It is located on a beautiful location overlooking the caldera , views are breath taking . They have a restaurant next door which serves the most elegant gourmet dishes at A very affordable price .

Great hotel and view . Best staff . We made a mistake of not taking a taxi but a public bus from the port. The hotel manager came and picked us up from the local bus stop in akortria. They have a restaurant next door with amazing nice friendly staff and amazing view. Also forget Oia this hotel has the best sunset view. However the hotel is located at the top of the mountain so you will need to rent your own atv , scooter or car. And the staff of hotel helps with it! Will Come back

Short, but very pleasant stay!
Caldera Romantica is a lovely small hotel with an amazing view and great facilities including good length swimming pool, drink bar and a beautiful breakfast café, which has a nice terrace overseeing the coast. The rooms are very clean and pleasantly cool at night – this is exactly what we needed after a day spent in heat of the Greek sun! The hotel staff are very friendly and helpful in arranging all services you may require, from car hire (this is an absolute necessity if you are planning on seeing other parts of the island), to airport transport. Although we stayed in Caldera for only two nights, we absolutely loved it and would definitely recommend to others!

As usual, the pictures are always much nicer than the reality. The hotel has a wonderful pool and we did get an upgrade to a suite...I would hate to see the standard rooms! All in all an ok hotel for the price. Please upgrade your mattresses.

Good value run by hospitable family in quiet part
Cleanliness: spotless. Service: family-run, warm and helpful. Eager to help or organise stuff and they make good recommendations. Amenities: simple room with balcony and ensuite wetroom, pool quite a nice place to wait, as is the breakfast area overlooking the caldera. Nothing like laundry available - nearest was in Fira (or maybe Perissa) and Kamari. Air con was thankfully included. We had view of caldera from balcony and could watch the sun go down, but view on other side of the hotel is quite nice too. Location: dead quiet and non-touristic. There is a restaurant pretty much next door which we really liked (recommend the octopus), there is one other building in view and that's it. Nearest beach is Kambia (2km on dirt track) which is tiny, quiet, pebbly with sunbeds (7 euros), good for swimmers and snorkellers and has a taverna. The town of Akrotiri is just over a mile away as is the bus stop. Both are uphill on the way back. Popular Red beach is 5 min drive. as is Ancient Akrotiri; Fira, 10; Oia, 20. Favourite moment was the short drive to the end of the island where there is a lighthouse - another great place to watch the Aegean sunset, cuddled on the rocks

Good hideaway spot on Santorini
We stayed for three nights and were very satisfied with this hotel. It is family run and the owners are very friendly, helpful and caring. The rooms are a bit basic, but for the money we paid had everything we needed including free wi-fi. The bathroom was a bit small and there was not shower curtain (which I didn't like so much), but for the short stay it was alright. Our room was facing the street (almost zero traffic and quiet at night) with a small balcony overlooking the bay and the volcano. The area around the hotel is a bit deserted. There is one (very good) restaurant next door, but that's about it. However, if you want to explore Santorini you need to rent a form of transportation anyway. We had a car (rented through the hotel) and it was very convenient. The hospitality of the family owners would make me return there in a heartbeat. Great hotel and value for money.
