Close to city center & Cathedral. A bit hard to find.with gps. Had to park on street 1/4 mile away. Otherwise enjoyable. Confusion about breakfast & I think the staff person was upset with us, but all turned out okay.

Very good location but did think it was overpriced. Be cautious booking on the weekend. I am not a light sleeper at all and was kept awake until 4am with the nightlife.

I liked that the location of the hotel was less than a 5 minute walk from the cathedral, and the nostalgia of the property was pleasant. The biggest complaint of this property is that our room and several others ware located above a bar that had extremely loud clientele, so we were kept awake until well after 4 am with all the noise. Considering that we just walked 500 miles across Spain we just wanted some good rest before we moved on. This hotel is not a place for those seeking R&R after completing the Camino.

Nice friendly hotel in the old town
Attractive hotel in good location in the old town. Very helpful and welcoming receptionist. Nice communal lounge. Clean and well maintained. Wifi is unreliable but that might be a general problem in the old town.

The hotel was nestled in downtown Santiago de Compostela, which was very nice. The room was big, very clean and nice. The biggest negative was that there was no air conditioning, which in and of itself would not have been a problem, but we had to leave the windows open to get some fresh air, and there was a restaurant/pub downstairs, with people talking, laughing and having a great time until 6 am. We did not get much sleep...

Comfortable and central
Nice cosy hotel in a renovated building close to the historic center of Santiago - 5 mins walk to the Cathedral. Room was basic, clean and the bed was very comfortable. Reception staff were very helpful and gave some excellent restaurant recommendations.

I didn’t spend much time in hotel/area. Late arrival flight and early morning transport out. The staff was super helpful in making my connections even though I did not see them face-to-face. Room was great and so was staff.

Beautiful small hotel in an old (but modernized) house in the old part of town very near the cathedral. Many pilgrims stay here. The staff is friendly and helpful. If you have a car, parking is in one of two easy to use public lots a few minute walk away. Slightly set back from the street in the Praciña de Algalia and little hard to find, but hey, it's a pilgrimage, right?

I was unable to sleep. The cafe/bar remained open until 5:00am and the patrons were very loud. Impossible, even with ear plugs, to shut out the shouting.

Really lovely hotel in a great location in Santiago. The rooms were beautiful in a traditional stone house. Pros: location, comfort, price/quality Only thing that could be improved is the breakfast.

End of El Camino de Santiago
The room was clean but we were on the first floor just above the restaurant bar so it was noisy at night. We were surprised we didn't have a phone in our room and the reception didn't have a person 24 hours, which we needed to coordinate the delivery of my suitcase lost somewhere between the US and Spain. I didn't like having only one key either. The plus of this hotel is its location.

At least it's cheap
We booked in for 3 nights, big mistake. It's noisy (we had drunks shouting as they passed our windows until 04.00h), basic and does a really poor breakfast. Our room was not cleaned on our second day and the shower doors did not close nor the shower hose stay in it's fitting when in use.

A wonderful weekend
We recently spent a long weekend in Santiago staying at the Hotel Alda Algalia. It truly was a treat. The hotel was excellent and no more than a stones throw from the magnificent cathedral and the historic centre of this lovely town. The tapas was excellent too!

La atención del personal y la ubicación excelente.el mobiliario anticuado pero funcional. Bien en general, habitación amplia y baño básico, con bañera. No hay parquing pero hay uno público muy cerca. Cama aceptable y limpio en general. Lo que no me gustó es el olor que había en la habitación, deben echar algún ambientador horrible..
