This place is gorgeous! The hosts are welcoming and kind, the accommodations are top rate and the surroundings are beautiful. You need to take a few narrow, Portuguese roads to get there but it is well worth that effort.

Like a Dream
A beautiful quinta in a picturesque setting that could be the location for a movie. The home is beautifully furnished with original pieces, our room (Nina"s room) overlooked the valley with outstanding views from the patio doors. The hosts, Jose and Milena, couldn't have been nicer and served a wonderful breakfast and were always available for information. At night as my wife and I were sitting on the terrace taking in the scenery, Milena brought us out two glasses of port with some peanut snacks complementary. You should not miss this place if you are staying in the region.

This was our favorite accommodation on our 25 day tour of Portugal. The property has been in the family for 4 generations. The apartment we stayed in was delightful and beautiful. We enjoyed having the spotless swimming pool to ourselves. Our hosts were amazing and so very helpful and attentive. If you ever have an opportunity to stay here I would HIGHLY recommend it!

A beautiful old farmhouse full of antiques, absolutely gorgeous. Everything was of the highest quality. Five-star. Even the bed linen was monogrammed. Excellent homemade breakfast. Secluded and peaceful. Fascinating history. We had a problem finding it as for some reason the emailed instructions were not received and google sent us to an identically named hotel in Regua! The rural location is a bit remote from Regua and the Douro but the ten-minute drive suited us fine.

The property and the hosts were exceptional. We enjoyed the privacy, as well as the common areas such as the pool, the garden and the lovely homemade breakfast prepared by the owner each morning. There were limited dining walkable options but still well located and approximately 10 minutes drive from the Douro River. I highly recommend this place!

Our stay at Casa do Salgueiral was absolute perfection. We all wished that we could have stayed longer than the two nights we had booked. The apartment was beautifully appointed with gorgeous antiques and hints of modernity to give the space a stylish yet eclectic feel. It was very spacious with comfortable beds and all the necessary amenities. There owners were gracious and welcoming, providing us with a lovely charcuterie plate and sandwiches when we arrived late in the evening for our check in after a long day on the road. Each morning an exquisite basket of home baked pastries with fruit and yogurt arrived at our door. The pool was a lovely reprieve from the heat of the summer day. The views are second to none of the rolling hills and vineyards of the Douro Valley. It was our favourite place we stayed in Portugal and we would love one day to return.

Very much worth the effort to get to this breathtakingly beautiful property. Our cottage was very comfortable for a family of four, with everything we needed. Our teenagers enjoyed the pool above and billiards in the lower room. The views from all around were stunning.

Hidden gem
Found this place by accident, it was the nicest place we have stayed in Portugal. Do yourself a favor and stay at least 2 nights, 1 is not enough. Room comfortable, owners were very hospitable, pool area was great, but did not have time to use it. Ask for the sausage and cheese board for dinner, it will rival anything in town. Their wine was very good also, and if you stay there for dinner you don't have to worry about driving. I think this place will eventually be in the guidebooks, it was that good. About 15 minutes from Regua.

Getting there can be difficult, but thanks to google maps, we made it. Once there, any navigation difficulties disappeared. Jose, the owner, met us as we entered the property. Our room was beautiful as was the view outside the room. On the property is a chapel. Regardless of your religious beliefs, it is worth taking some time to visit. The view view is magnificent - I can’t say enough about the view. Casa do Salgueiral will exceed any expectations you want from a B&B.

Perfect Escape
What a hidden gem! We loved our stay in one of their two-bedroom apartments. Everything was perfect; we were in awe of the view, the landscape, the cleanliness - just perfect. The pool was delightful and everywhere we looked was picturesque. The owners were great hosts and excellent communicators. The breakfast was so plentiful with freshly squeezed orange juice, warm bread and croissants, and other yummy items. We can't wait to go back. We were so glad we chose this charming B&B.

Great place
Casa do Salguerial was a fantastic place, located around 12 km from Peso da Regua, in the middle of beautiful Douro landscape. Very friendly and helpful hosts.

O local é muito legal! Em meio aos parreirais de uva, numa casa antiga, porém com quartos muito confortáveis. O casal José e Ilena, donos do hotel, são pessoas muito agradáveis, prestativas e preocupados com o bem estar dos hóspedes. Fomos em dois casais e ficamos muito felizes com tudo. Desde a estrutura do hotel, até o café da manhã, servido nos quartos.

Casa do Salgueiral var en helt særlig oplevelse. Fredfyldt, smukt og yderst hjertelige værter. Med en beliggenhed midt i vinmarkerne, smukt og nænsomt renoveret og 5. generation til at sætte rammen for dit ophold kan jeg ikke forstille mig et bedre sted for et ophold i Dourodalen. Vi fik den fineste morgenmadskurv med friskpresse juice, friskbagt brød og kager, frugt og meget mere. leveret hver morgen til døren på det tidspunkt vi ønskede. Und dig selv et besøg her, det er så fint et sted.
