Cute little hotel if you’re wanting to stay in Solvang! Walking distance to the village and restaurants. The hotel itself was well maintained and also had cute and modern decor. We checked in pretty late in the evening after office hours but was able to retrieve my room key from a lockbox. They communicated well. Highly recommend!

The Marlo is a nice place to stay overall. The location is great, just short walk distance from the downtown, but away from a busyness of it. The rooms were clean with plenty of space (we stayed at Higge Courtyard room). I'm not sure why there was only a lamp on one of the nightstands but not on the other, so I had to walk in a dark to my side of the bed after turning the light off for the night. The reason for 4 stars is that, unfortunately, the walls between the rooms (not within the suite itself) are not very soundproof, so we could hear our neighbors talking pretty clearly, and I'm sure they were talking in a normal voice not loudly. So if you are a light sleeper or like to go to bed earlier than your neighbors who like to talk late, you might find it a bit uncomfortable. Other than that, no complains, and we'll most likely stay there again, because we loved the relaxed feeling of the Marlo and that it is pet-friendly.

Since the area is very safe, even though our room was on the ground floor, it felt very clean and comfortable. Bottled water was provided, and we didn’t have any problems during our stay. You can also walk to the town of Solvang for a nice stroll. It’s very quiet at night, which makes it even more wonderful. This is definitely a place I would love to stay at again.

The room was spacious and comfortable. The coffee bar was nice and the bathroom counter was large. We loved it! Side note: I meant to tell the hotel that the two area rugs are a trip hazard because they don’t have a rug pad underneath. When I lifted my suitcase to put it on the bench at the foot of the bed, the rug slipped under me and I almost fell. A rug pad with a rubber bottom would prevent that.
