The close proximity to Brazos Bend State was a major plus. It was nice to spend the day at the park and then head “home” to build our campfire, cook dinner, and make S’mores. The cabin, covered porch, deck, and fire pit made the place feel rustic, yet clean and convenient. The checkin process was very personal and we learned a little about the history of the land and its surroundings. Very quiet, not far from the city but felt much more remote. Which was pretty sketchy but then it rained and the more rain that came down the slicker it got so you couldn’t stop or slow on the way down and fishtailed on the way up. It was quite easy purchasing day passes and parking at the park. We were lucky enough to see 5 gators! We might bring bikes for a future visit. We will definitely stay here again! ##### Milagros L.
