I can say I followed the other review a bit skeptical you can’t judge everything you read… I can confirm I had a similar experience, although we did not find mold. We found a hot spa as promised but the atmosphere could have been better, the spa was not locked on arrival which made us think someone was using it in the surrounding area. There were rules! no pets and wash the dishes THOROUGHLY! I love my dogs and enjoy a clean house, and I have never experienced the following in my home…This cabin had obviously not been deep cleaned or cleaned in a while. It smells of strong mothballs when u walk in… Our black socks turned white from simply walking on the floor, we had to wash all our bedding it was COVERED in WHITE dog hair along with the rugs and curtains, the couch. As u sat and looked there were stains on everything the carpets and furniture … the dishes were covered in crumbs and lip stick on the rims. It was manageable but could of been better. We tired vacuuming but Im sure that’s part of the problem the vacuum is busted, it simply just spread everything around. I rent from vacation home sites all the time and this was my first disappointment. The teenagers and babies obviously didn’t care but we were constantly washing everything before we used it. I had tired contacting the host prior but they were not responsive. It was a confusing check in process since I had to drive a mile up the road to the check in office. This property was in a great location but was stinky, old, not maintained, and extremely dirty. We had to buy sanitizer, use air freshener, buy dishes, cook ware. The furniture was old, stained, dirty. The carpet was so nasty with poop smears and stains. The tiles were broken on the floor and molded in the restroom.
