Sergio was the BEST and made sure we had everything we needed in the way of a delicious breakfast each morning and recommendations for the day. "We were greeted by a wonderful friendly manager (owner?) who stopped traffic so we could find a free parking space, helped us with our luggage, give us great suggestions for sights and food and generally made us feel very welcome. "The booking and check in process were easy. Our host, Antonio, met us at the apartment even though we were delayed for several hours. The location is in Baia del Carpino, with gorgeous views of the Mediterranean. Because we stayed off-season, some shops and restaurants in the area were closed, but everything you need is just a short drive away. We really enjoyed our stay."

"Beautiful peaceful location set in the mountains and overlooking the ocean with breathtaking views. The house was spacious, comfortable and very well equipped with everything we needed. The owner was friendly and helpful too. My only criticism is it could have done with a good clean and good airing and updated bed linen and to have had a maid to at least change to towels. We also couldn’t find the outside bins and recycling so clear instructions would help but apart from that it was perfect."

"Il Santavenere is definitely a 10/10 experience. From the moment you arrive you are in a true oasis - just what you want from a break by the sea. The staff are all (and I mean all) friendly, personable and helpful. The rooms are luxurious, including the beds and washrooms, without being overly showy. The views overlooking the sea are stunning. Maratea itself is definitely a nice little town and Il Santavenere is a hidden gem in Basilicata. We're already planning our next trip back and can't wait to be there again!"
