Really enjoyed this property until halfway through our stay. Breakfast was delivered to our room and a staff member stole a ring off our nightstand. There was no one else in the room and we really didn’t want to accuse someone but unless a ghost snuck in it was definitely the staff.
We reported it immediately and they asked to “give them some time.” We waited for two more hours in our hotel room until housekeeping arrived to try to help us find the ring that was obviously gone.
Then we got to watch as housekeeping called the kitchen staff manager and she proceeded to enter our room, not speak to myself or my partner directly, and start arguing in front of us. The kitchen apparently was trying to blame the housekeeping staff although housekeeping hadn’t been in our room since the ring went missing. One of the most awkward and disappointing situations I’ve ever experienced in all my years of traveling.
Front desk employees arrived and basically told us that the employee had already left for the day and they couldn’t do anything about it. “Our word against hers.” Sad that this had to happen but they offered us no help and no compensation after literally five hours of nonsense. Had I not already pre-paid for the last two days we would have immediately left. We went the last two days without having any staff members in our room (by request) which also hindered our stay.
Word of advice: Watch your belongings at all times, even when they are delivering your breakfast. Not safe
