We enjoyed our week on the beach at this property. Some of the huge pros included that it's literal steps away from the beach, it has an elevator and accessible bedroom/bathroom for those with mobility issues (a godsend for my 95 year old grandmother), there are ample bedrooms/bathrooms for a multi-generational vacation, and there is a private pool and hot tub.
A few of the cons included a pretty chaotic check in process. The check in was at 4, which I confirmed was okay when we were an hour away, but when my family arrived, the cleaning crew was still there because the previous occupants left the property late. While this is not the end of the world, we were told that the cleaners would be done by the 4pm check in so we were thrown off by this change. All this needed was some more open communication so I could make arrangements for my parents, 15 month old, and grandmother. Second, the house could use some TLC. There were exposed wires on the outside of the house, exposed nails on a few of the decks (which was hazardous for our little one), one of the dishwashers was corroded on the inside, and the thermostat was difficult to manage as it was locked and struggled to maintain a level temperature.
The final thing that I wanted to mention is that while I absolutely respect anyone's decision of what to put in their home, having an entire bookshelf filled with right-wing conspiracy literature and altering the Roku channels so that it's only easy to find OAN and Newsmax runs a huge risk of leaving a sour taste in some renters' mouths when they arrive. While this didn't permanently impact our stay, it was enough to lead us to decide not to rent here again because we did not feel very welcome in the home.
