Excellent swimming off the gradual incline of the beach . Enjoy kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding with the provided water craft. Hiking is beautiful with Ell Pond, the only location in RI to be on the National Register of Natural Places 1/2 mile from the house . 1/2 hour from the Westerly or Charlestown beaches , Mystic Seaport , Mystic Aquarium , Foxwoods or Mohegan Sun but you wlll not want to leave the property. 40 minutes to Providence 50 minutes to Newport. Linens are NOT PROVIDED but can be rented an additional cost of $125\. Blankets ,pillows, etc. are provided . It is highly recommended that you purchase trip insurance as bookings are non-refundable. 6 person overnight occupancy with no more than 10 people allowed on the property at one time without having prior arrangements. Henry David Thoreau would've appreciated the quiet, natural setting, with wildlife and foliage galore. Two amazing hiking trails were only 1/2 mile away. It is a lovely property, nicely maintained with new amenities. The AC was needed and appreciated. Wincheck Pond was refreshing and fun for boarding, boating and swimming. Local hikes and cycling to Ell Pond, Patchaug State Forest, etc. is a highlight of staying here. We hope to stay here again soon! ##### Nancy D. The house is pictured accurately and the description is just what you get - a perfectly clean, beautiful house where everything works as it should and a private beach in paradise. The beds were good, bedding comfortable. The house had anything you wanted to make a meal. The grill had been cleaned and had plenty of propane. You just have to bring your clothes and start enjoying yourself. We are a couple in our seventies traveling with a daughter and son-in-law and our 3 year old granddaughter, who turned 4 a couple of days after we left the cottage. We were all delighted with the cottage, the watercraft, the quality of the outdoor furniture and the attention to detail. The lake was perfect for a child, as it is shallow for the first 10 feet or so. Before we left our daughter asked if she could have Allison's contact information. She loved the house and appreciated its cleanliness so much she wanted to send her a thank you note. I told her I'd have a chance to leave a review and would pass on her praise. We've rented over 100 properties on VRBO and similar over the past 15 years. This house was in our top 10%. You will not be disappointed. The water, surrounded by pines, is a touch of Maine. Herons, ducks, and tiny turtles swimming at the shoreline - nature abounds in the silence. Short walk to hiking trails, short drive to local restaurants - great one in Wyoming is called Wood River Bar & Grill. Sunday is karaoke night - the locals are a hoot! And talented! I told them there are parts of Rhode island that you’d think you were in Vermont or Upstate NY. Well this lake house is exactly what I wanted them to experience. The perfect New England getaway in the Fall Time. The reflection of the foliage was just starting and gave us a tease of what was to come over the next couple of weeks. The hustle and bustle of summer was over and we seemed to be the only people on the pond, although it is in such a peaceful location and the fact that there’s no motorboats on the pond, I’m sure there’s never much of a “hustle and bustle.” The house was clean and had a cabin vibe inside.
