Gîte CHAT ROUGE ROUBION DÉGOÛTANT AUCUNE LUNOSITE AFFREUX SEJOUR CATASTROPHIQUE, SALE, PAS DU TOUT

We stayed at this gite for two weeks.
Whilst the gite was clean and tidy, there are far too many saucepans and needs decluttering in the kitchen. Prior guests sponges and cloths should be regularly thrown out.
We we very disappointed that gite was not cleaned or the bedding changed after the first week.
The pool area was not consistent with the photo shown on the website. There was only one decent patio chair to sit in. The other patio chair was broken. The pool area needs to be tidied up and a lot of broken and discarded items are just left lying about, the table was never cleaned, not even once. We felt that the walk from the gite to the pool area needs to be levelled as it was extremely difficult to walk on. Another rail needs to be put on the very uneven and steep steps. This is an accident waiting to happen.
The owners need to learn to speak basic English, anyone who doesn’t speak much French would have a real problem.
We would not be returning to stay at this gite.

Hot in Summer
We selected the studio for a prime week in summer because of its location, the fact that it had air conditioning, and the little pool. It was very hot in Provence (close to 40 every day) and we suffered from the heat in the studio because there was no air conditioning after all and its location was in full sun all day. We couldn't even use the table in the garden because it had no shade! The studio was very clean and functional although I could have done with a little less of the owners's ceramics. I did discuss the lack of air conditioning with the owner and she agreed that it needed it...but obviously that didn't help us. The location in town is fine and the little pool was charming. The listing, however, is confusing in that they have combined three places, but only two have AC. I would also suggest that the owner include her extra fees in the rental rate. It is annoying to be asked for extra money when you arrive for taxes and then for towels. I rent out 4 places of our own in France, Spain and Canada and would never think of asking extra for towels.
