Bathroom let down

One night stopover convenient for SDU airport (although our flight was cancelled suddenly), and our airline took us to GIG. We were given a room that was comfortable but sadly the bathroom had a snag list as long as your arm. 1 no door architrave on inside. 2 Mirror light hanging free suspended by it’s wires. 3 No vent grille on extractor, just a big hole (and the thing didn’t cut out at all. 4 Towel rail so loose we dare not hang a towel on it. 5 Shower soap dispenser completely empty. Avoid end room 470 (4th floor).

Likes: Room and bed was comfortable, nice size. Internet was a good speed. Dislikes: Hair on the shower wall, No adapters availablefor Brazilian electrical plugs, no USB plugs for charging cell phones, Staff was not very helpful - I asked for an iron, it was never delivered. I asked for late check out at 2PM instead of 12 noon and was told I'd have to pay for a half day extra. ( I declined) Property was not fully booked, so asking for a late checkout should not require paying a half day. Staff didn't go out of their way to accommodate, just did the bare minimum, No smiles, just plain faces with no emotion. Very rare to see this in Rio. Overall, it was just a one day layover and place to lay my head, but next time I'd stay at the Prodigy hotel on the other side of Santos Dumont airport where the Customer service is much better and the connected Bossa Nova mall and food options are excellent.

The condition of the room was fine, and the staff was super nice. The service itself wasn't so good. I requested several times for someone to come help me with the safe inside the room, and no one came up to help me even though they said they would. I also reported the phone inside the room didn't work on the first night, and they also didn't fix it. The rooms don't have an iron to iron your clothes, you have to do this on a separate floor they have. Sometimes they would last a couple of days to change towels.
