The botel is a nice stay if you like the vibe of sleeping in a boat. Staff was nice and helpful. The overall standard is not great but it’s definitely okay.

Unique experience, great location!
This was a cool experience! It's a historic ferry, it is not first class but it's something different! The boat is docked right across from some great restaurants so the location is perfect. The breakfast is pretty good, nice buffet. I would stay there again!

Wonderful breakfast. Close to bus station. Great place to drink and wait out a passing storm. Very helpful staff. Remember, it is a metal boat and everything echoes around and about, so careful what noises you make or what you say loudly! Great beds. Would gladly return next trip.

Novelty hotel in a great location!
This hotel is in the very centre of Rijeka! Staff were incredibly friendly and would stay here again if visiting Rijeka. The only small issue is the lack of the light that reached the room due to only have two very small windows.

Good location we walked about 10 minutes from the train station. Close to the tourist Street. Many restaurants and bars nearby. It being a botel was interesting and kind of fun.

Great location of a boat-hotel!
The hotel is actually a boat! Great location (right on the water), one block away from the city's pedestrian area, with restaurants, shops, entertainment, and historical sites within steps. Public parking lot is right outside the hotel, which came very handy. The room is very basic, but clean. There is a small TV, free Wifi, but no air conditioner, refrigerator, or microwave. Breakfast was included and consisted of choice of eggs, cold cuts, pastries, juices, coffee and tea. The hotel offers you a 10% discount on a dinner in the hotel's restaurant. I strongly recommend against using this restaurant. The food was ok, but the service was the sloppiest and slowest I have experienced in a long time. There are plenty of much better restaurants all over the city, right outside the hotel. That being said, we had a very nice stay overall and I would recommend this hotel to others.

Ideally located on the waterfront close to shops and bus station. Rooms were spotlessly clean. Bed was comfortable. Booked two double rooms slightly different layouts but both adequate. Had our evening meal in the restaurant, travel companion was very impressed with the cabonara. Would recommend for anyone who is looking for budget rate accommodation but of a higher standard than most. Would definitely stay here again

Comfortable and convenient
Though the room was small and lacked abundant table space for our stuff, a remote for the TV, or amenities beyond the basic hand soap and body wash, it was actually a pretty decent stay. The bed was comfortable, and we slept well since it was quiet with gentle rocking. The front desk person told us that it only gets rocky if there are high winds; we were on the same level as the front desk - A level. The shower was spacious and great with awesome water pressure and temperature control. It was arguably the best shower we've had in Europe! The wifi worked well. Also, the location can't be beat. It was less than a 5-minute walk to Old Town (with restaurants and clubs) or the bus station and less than a 10-minute walk to the train station. This hotel provides a great basic hotel as everything was super clean. Great for a short stay! We would stay here again.

Great Spot!
The botel is very nice and clean. My reservation I made through a third party didn't go through and the staff was very friendly getting is resolved. The luggage storage situation here is very nice and secure and the rooms are large. The only thing I would change is the ability to choose your own bed, They assign you one even if there are only 2 other people in your dorm.

I did expect a "different" room as this is on an old ship. But.. the corridor had 1 1/2" level changes that could and did cause tripping. The floor in the room slopped so much it was not comfortable to walk around the bed. The bed was almost 3 feet above the floor and sloped side to side - If I was much older than my 68 years I may not have been able to get up there. I was concerned with the possibility of rolling off and down to the floor. It's too bad that a good idea was compromised by such a bad design. A cold breakfast was not expected from a facility which has a dining room operation.

Good strategic position in the town centre, clean,
Clean room, good food, nice stuff, only problem is location, it is in town centre what is extremely convenient, however Friday,Saturday night is impossible to sleep before 3 or 4 in the morning as local bars playing extremely loud music, and some of the guest as well are not quiet while coming back from night life. Overall very nice and clean place, nice, helpful and polite stuff, speaking excellent english. Good food, competitive pricess.

The room was a good size and bed was fine. Bathroom had no issues. 2 small complaints: hallways and room has very uneven floors, the portal window has no sun cover so I would cover it with clothes. Breakfast had eggs and bacon plus all the usual other choices. Very friendly and helpful staff. Would recommend it if you are willing to try something different.

Great Quirky Hotel - you must visit the bar!
We wanted to visit the Croatian coast but did not want to travel too far south. Rijeka was an easy location to get to. We reserved parking right in front of the hotel, beside the gangplank! The entrance / lobby is in the stern of the ship and is decorated in a nautical theme. The rooms are basic and on the small side. We had a quad room which had a double bed and bunk bed. The room was clean enough although the beds were not the most comfortable. There was plenty of storage, although nowhere for luggage to be put out. The bar is great, very relaxed and fabulous veiws across the water, a good size too. We only had breakfast in the resturant, which was inclusive, it was again basic but filling and good enough. Overall, we loved the quirkiness of the hotel, its a great conversion, but don't expect luxury, it good, clean and basic. Would definitely recommend and we thought good value for money.

This is a perfect location to stay in Rijeka. Lots of parking low cost. Great quality. Only down side the bar shuts early on the boat. I'd definitely stay here again.

Positive: The hotel was very special, on a ship, with a great bar on the top deck. The room was nice. The center of the city was easily accessible from our accommodation. It was one of the most special hotels we stayed in. Negative: We found small hairs on our bedsheet, which were replaced at our request.

Good price for a great location
This was a quirky hotel that is a ship docked on the shore. The rooms were actually a good size for 4 people (queen sized bed and a bunk bed). The only problem with the room was just how loud it was. Walls are thin, you can hear full conversations. The bar and restaurant were good and very convenient. Location is great, next to the busy area with lots of choices.

A Budget Hotel a Cut Above the Usual
The Botel Marina is a budget hotel that is a cut above the usual options in that category. A former cruise ship, originally launched in 1936, it has been permanently docked and retrofitted into a hotel. We have found that travel as a party of 3 (2 adults, 1 child) is quite expensive in Europe and also limiting. That is, you are usually required to book a triple room, instead of perhaps a standard double with a cot or sofa. That being the case, the Botel Marina was extremely affordable for a triple--88 Euro/night plus tax. The room was clean, neat, and modern with a nice, though smallish bathroom. A negative is that there were only 2 small porthole windows placed too high for views.

Great, cheap place
This hotel feels a little hostel-ish but is priced that way too, with the additional novelty of the boat setting and the terrific location. It's extremely clean and relatively comfortable, staff is very helpful and the breakfast was free and great - buffet-style with both hot and cold options. They even brought out freshly-made crepes at one point. We did feel that a baby in the room next door one night felt like it might as well have been crying in our room, so limited soundproofing in my experience.

great location, easy to walk from airport transfer bus, funny place, nice view from the front balcony, perfect for 3 nights. pretty warm during the night, even with aircon 24/7. Room could be a bit cleaner, but liked it anyway!
