Ridgefield Vacation Packages

The Riu Plaza hotel, near Times Square, was the perfect spot for our quick trip to the city. Short walks to several theaters, Times Square and Central Park.

We spent more than a week at this property in late April. If you like walking in the city, this hotel has the perfect location to get anywhere with a healthy walk (not talking "around the corner" but something that will nicely get you over 10k steps/day) including the Central Park, Chelsea, Soho, East & West Village, etc. If you want to use the subway, the station is close-by. Cabs and app-based rides are abundant as well. We were very happy with the housekeeping service, and the quality of the job they've done. Also with the very spacious room. The restaurant was very convenient and offered excellent food & drink choices. The staff there, and elsewhere at the hotel was very helpful and friendly. Couple of things that we did not like: (1) considering this is a 5* hotel, unless you use the "club lounge" (an offer was made at the check-in but I did not find it reasonable, and did not have the energy to negotiate after a 10-hr flight and a cab-ride from JFK), there is not much of a lobby-space where you can spend quality time, you can use the restaurant but they don't serve 24/7, and (2) we paid for one of the higher-grade rooms, a "deluxe, city-view", but not sure if we got one (yes, we had a view of a part of the city, but can't say it matched our past stays in NYC)... be sure to avoid a West facing room, if you can (once again, we were too tired to ask for a change-of-room after a long trip... hotel should've done that considering our long stay).

This hotel is amazing taste. One of the most nice visual and atmosphere hotel in New York. Restaurant is good bit too salty like usual restaurant. Staff is nice but bit dry. Room is very nice but the water faucet was really tight and not design for comfortable use. Roof top view is fantastic.pool is good to refresh. I would come back again.

We checked in April 30 at about 3pm. Tiante was at the check in counter. There was some confusion around the requests I had made at the time of booking.Tiante became quickly frustrated and without looking into my questions simply shut me down. Her tone was rude, and I was embarassed by her treatment. My English is imperfect and I couldn't help but feel somewhat bullied. When I approached another staff person to ask my questions, she intervened and once again spoke harshly toward me. Everything else about this hotel was excellent,but this interaction was very disappointing.

Nice place to stay in Upper Manhattan. Very close to the subway. Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. You have to park in a parking garage a block and a half away, but that was good. You are close to all the food places. I would stay there again.
